This luxurious property is ideal for nature-lovers aching to unwind. Embraced by the wild Yorkshire moors, it is only moments away from heather-clad hills, ancient woodlands, meandering rivers and glittering lakes.

Set in the heather-clad landscape of the North York Moors National Park, this romantic cottage sleeps two guests in the peaceful village of Gillamoor. It’s perfect for couples with canine companions that love to get away from busy lifestyles and simply enjoy outdoor adventures. You’re 8 miles from spectacular views at Blakey Ridge, while the rolling moorland and country landscape will appeal to inquisitive four-legged friends. There’s a historic inn within walking distance serving delicious food, a shop nearby (2.5 miles) and off-road parking is available at the front of the cottage.

Step inside this well-equipped cottage, which has elegant country-style interiors, plus contemporary underfloor heating, and a bright open-plan living room, kitchen, and dining space. Curl up with your pups by the warming wood burner and unwind with the selection of books, or enjoy favourite films on the TV and DVD. Enjoy family meals in the well-equipped kitchen/dining area and make plans for a new day. Outside, there’s a gated BBQ patio and small private garden where your dog can recharge before the next dog-loving adventure, while the stylish king-size bedroom has romantic French-style shutters, a stylish en-suite with a freestanding bath, and countryside views.

Enjoy the rugged and wild Yorkshire Moors landscape, abundant with ancient woodland, meandering rivers and glittering lakes for romantic walks and pup-loving adventures. Look out for birdlife over the rugged moorland, and explore the long-distance Cleveland Way National Trail (8 miles) running from the countryside market town of Helmsley to the Victorian seaside town of Filey. Discover the quintessentially English market towns of Kirkbymoorside (2.5 miles), Pickering (10 miles) and Helmsley (7.5 miles), where you can savour delicious local produce, book a show at the vibrant arts centre, or visit the medieval castle ruins by its enchanting walled garden.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Enjoying an enviable situation sat comfortably at the edge of Gillamoor, an attractive North York Moors village, this is a superb choice for a cosy break away from it all. Close to the pretty town of Kirkbymoorside (2.5 miles) and then on to vibrant and attractive Yorkshire market towns like Pickering (10 miles) and Helmsley (8 miles); both of which have an abundance of good restaurants, tea-rooms and independent shops.

Beyond the village lies the North York Moors. A landscape like no other, it's a place of gentle rolling hills of heather, ancient woodlands and lazy rivers winding through lush green valleys. If you want to get away from it all take a trip to the top of the high central moorlands. The famous Blakey Ridge affords some of the best views in the country in our opinion, and is just a few minutes' drive from the cottage. And if walking is your thing, you are surrounded on all sides by some truly stunning routes.

The cottage was absolutely perfect for us. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom large and warm and the living room cum kitchen perfect for 2.

Great location, yet apart from a great pub Gillamore is very quiet. The walk to Hutton-le-Hole was mainly by road as the footpaths are very boggy and the town was closed apart from the pub. Beautiful little village though and it was early January.

Cedar Cottage (Gales House Farm) was ideal for what we needed, peace, comfort, relaxation and dog friendly. The location was fantastic, no busy roads, very few tourists, small friendly village with a pub (The Royal Oak) that sold excellent food. The owners of the cottage, Georgina and Steve, have worked very hard to design the cottage for comfort, Read morecleanliness and they were on hand every day should they be needed for anything. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Thank you. Hide
