A warm, cosy and beautifully restored cottage with attention to detail, lovingly renovated by the owners where you can retreat to and unwind after enjoying the diversity of the countryside of unspoilt Weardale.
Set tails wagging as you follow footpaths through the spectacular Durham Dales. This delightful stone cottage set in a village surrounded by glorious countryside, welcomes up to four guests and two of their contented canine companions. Relax together in front of a roaring wood burner, enjoy the fresh air out in your courtyard garden and savour your position in Westgate at the heart of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Step into your pretty holiday home and hang your leads in the hall. A cosy welcome awaits you and your four-legged friends, especially in the inviting lounge with its wood burner glowing in the stone fireplace. Watch TV in here, read a good book and give your furry friends the attention they deserve after a long day out. Serve tasty home-prepared meals to all members of your party in your kitchen/diner. As darkness falls, you’ll find your two bedrooms and your family bathroom up a cottage-style staircase on the first floor. Enjoy meals out in your private courtyard or your upper seating area: light the BBQ or firepit out here on warm evenings. Your happy hounds will enjoy pottering nearby, while you play pool or table football in the games room.
Lace up your walking boots, grab the leads and head out on a circular 4.5-mile walk from the village, enjoying the undulating scenery and beautiful views of the River Wear. Drive approximately 8 miles to pick up a section of the Pennine Way, which runs for 268 miles and passes through incredible landscapes. Make the 28.5-mile journey to Durham to explore the historic city on foot and if your pups still have the energy to burn, follow the Durham Peninsula Walk, taking in the sights as they bound beside you.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
