Dine and relax in the beautiful open-plan lounge/diner, perhaps recapping the day’s adventures or simply curling up with a good book. Enjoy your morning coffee in the light-filled conservatory, taking a welcome break from the action. Outside, you’ll find extensive shrub-lined grounds surrounding the property - a great spot in which to relax and play.
Take the riverside track for an easy 1-mile stroll to the dramatic Skelwith Force with its viewing platform set over the churning waters. Or lace up your walking boots and set off for Louhrigg Fell (1.5 miles), passing Loughrigg Tarn en route, before venturing further to Rydal Water (5 miles) and Grasmere (7 miles). Much of the Great Langdale valley is in the care of the National Trust, who have ten farms here; why not visit High Close Estate and Arboretum (2 miles) or Sticklebarn (4 miles), a National Trust pub that sources all it can from the valley.
