A delightful cottage situated in the harbour village of Appledore, this is an excellent choice if you want to share your holiday with your dogs but don’t want to have forfeit style or comfort. A south-facing courtyard provides a sunny spot for al fresco dining as does the village’s selection of waterside dog-friendly pubs.
This cottage has been elegantly styled by the owners to create an attractive seaside retreat for six human guests and two of the canine kind. Two separate lounges (one on the ground and one on the second floor) both have a wonderfully cosy feel to them, giving you a lovely space to curl up in the evenings with your canine companion snoozing at your feet. The dining room is a stylish room with a dining table seating four, whilst the kitchen and utility room are both well equipped. The main bathroom can be found on the ground floor, whilst on the first floor the master bedroom, a double, benefits from an en-suite shower. A second double room is also situated on the first floor, whilst the third bedroom, a twin, can be found upstairs on the second floor. All three bedrooms have their own TV, so why not enjoy a late-night movie or a lazy morning lie-in?
Appledore, on the River Torridge estuary in North Devon, makes a splendid place to enjoy a holiday with your faithful four-legged friend. Take leisurely walks along the river and around the harbour or hop on the passenger ferry to neighbouring Instow and the pretty beach where dogs are welcome outside of peak season. Northam Burrows Country Park (1.5 miles), meanwhile, is open to dogs throughout the year and is a fantastic expanse of semi-wild landscape.
