Property code: 86293

Romantic log cabin in the Welsh countryside with wood burner, countryside views and walks from the door.

Studded on the cusp of Machynlleth, this delightful log cabin is an eclectic mix of rustic and country-cottage chic, combining wooden details with pretty furniture and accessories. Sleeping couples with or without young children and one pup, it is ideally located for exploring Snowdonia National Park and the North Wales coastline, and being placed close to the railway means you can travel further afield too.

Quirky and unique with wooden panelling throughout, your cosy abode is kept toasty by a roaring wood burner at its heart – a spot that Fido will soon bag as his favourite. Settle down on the sofas and watch TV, retreat to the dining space, or throw open the doors for an al fresco vibe. The compact yet well-equipped kitchen is tucked in a nook, providing everything you need to whip up delicious meals. A small corridor leads to the delightful bedrooms, one with a double bed and another with bespoke bunk beds laid out in an ‘L shape’. Although the bottom bunk is standard size, this room is only suitable for children and the top bunk is smaller. On balmy evenings, the decked terrace is a treat for sipping drinks.

The world really is your oyster when you visit beautiful Machynlleth, and once you have fully explored the bars, shops and eateries, there is lots to discover close by. Aberdyfi, or Aberdovey as it is also known, is 12 miles away with its dog-friendly beach and opportunities for water sports. Golf, wildlife spotting and cycling are popular here too, or why not arrange a boat trip and take your sea dog across the water for a change of scene? Dolgellau is 17.5 miles away and acts as a gateway to some of Snowdonia’s most impressive walking routes.

The view from the cabin is stunning. It is one of many in the woods, the area around not always well maintained. It is not dog secure as the deck has no gate, so leaving the cabin door open not an option. The timing of the heating is controlled remotely, but you can set the temperature, needs better instructions. Visit the Osprey Project, an amazinRead moreg place. Hide

A nice bijou, quirky cabin in an excellent location with fantastic views. Rather dark inside due to being in woodland. Very narrow drive alongside hotel (now a private residence). Large family cars/4x4's would find it extremely tight. Had a few little niggles with internal facilities (reported). Outside seating area within treeline, meant no directRead more sunlight. In our opinion we don't consider it large enough for two adults and two children. One parking space with limited manoeuvrability. Hide

So clean and peaceful with amazing views, surrounded by lots and lots of wild life. The near by town was lovely and everything accessible "food and drink" wise.

Lovely place. Quite cold in the mornings and the heating is controlled by smart plugs which, I assume the owner manages. Fully equipped however and lovely views from the balcony.

Lovely little hideaway for two with fantastic views. Everything you need clean bedding, hot shower, great tv. Just beware the entrance to the property is "very" tight if you have a large car. The only downside you don't get any sun on the decking/veranda due to the amount of trees. But still a great little property in easy reach of the local town aRead morend fabulous beaches. Hide

Lovely cottage, clean, cosy, brilliant views. However their is no where to take your dog on walks as the cottage is on private land owned by the hotel and the fields are locked of because of the sheep. We only found this out from the neighbour, We had to drive half hour for them to be able to have a good run around. We 100% want to come back again Read morejust maybe this time without the dogs :) Hide
