This characterful cottage is the perfect romantic bolthole for two. Quiet and secluded yet less than 500 metres from the centre of Keswick, there is plenty to do no matter what you feel like doing. Tuck into delicious meals at the many pubs and restaurants, or head to the quirky Derwent Pencil Museum or the Keswick Museum (0.5 miles) to broaden your horizons. Hire rowing boats to take out on Derwentwater (2 miles) or take a wander around Whinlatter Forest (5 miles). From your front door, challenge yourself to hikes up to Skiddaw (5 miles) or Blencathra (7 miles) for stunning views of the fells.
Step up through the front door of this pretty cottage and into a welcoming open-plan living area that feels light and airy yet retains a rustic feel. Curl up on the armchairs in front of the TV with the wood burner crackling, or sit on the window seat with a good book. The quaint kitchen area has a contemporary cottage style and has everything you need to cook up tasty meals as well as storage space and a washing machine. The dining table is perfect for two to enjoy hearty breakfasts before heading out onto the fells. Upstairs, a tranquil king-size bedroom awaits you; enjoy lie-ins in front of the TV or get ready at the dressing table by the window. The en-suite bathroom has a stylish look and has a shower over the bath.
Accessed via the kitchen door, an enclosed patio gets lots of afternoon sun so is perfect for al fresco lunches or a nice hot drink after a long day out walking. There’s also a sink out here for washing muddy boots and paws so there’s no need to worry about walking mud through the cottage.
