If you can tear yourselves away from this sumptuous cottage, you'll find the town of Cosset, 6 miles away, is home to a range of shops, cafes and restaurants. The cathedral city of Durham can be found 15 miles from the property and is a lovely day out for everyone, with dogs allowed inside the cloister and cathedral grounds. Keen fisherman can try their luck at Waskerley Reservoir – a pleasant 10-mile drive away.

What a beautiful cottage with a generous size hot tub. Had such a relaxed holiday - a real hidden gem of a place with very personal touches. Loved every second and would definitely recommend.

Beautifully presented cottage, fully equipped with modern appliances. This was our second visit and it was just as good as the first. We had a fantastic few days staying in Hishope Cottage its truly a beautiful area and place to stay with everything and more that youd need. Flowers and cakes on arrival really made us feel special and is a lovely welcoming touch. The cottage was beautiful. Clean, well equipped, comfortable and with a large enclosed garden for the dog. Has a wood burner for if it's chilly, and a separate, private enclosed area for the hot tub. The owner was lovely, she lit the hot tub so it would be warm for when I arrived. The cottage is on a farm and there are sheep just the other side of Read morethe wall, my small dog didn't bother about them. There were lots of nearby walks for the dog, and places to visit. Before our journey we received a email from Jayne explaining everything we needed to know . On our arrival we were greeted by a friendly hello from Jayne.We entered the Hishope cottage and greeted by fresh flowers, slices of lemon cake ,tea,coffee,sugar and fresh milk great start. Cottage is located in a nice place up on the fells. Very quiet. You need transport to get around the area but there are plenty of beauty spots to visit. Cottage well appointed with all modern amenities. Jacuzzi a definite bonus with this cottage.

We just had the best time. Place is lovely, hot tub was amazing and there were plenty of walks of all level, our old doggo really had a good time :) owners are lovely too! I'm already booking another weekend at the cottage!

The cottage was really cosy and well presented there was a lovely welcome pack with tea, coffee and homemade cakes. The owner was really friendly and met us on arrival and welcomed us to the property while offering any support over our stay. The starter supply of logs more than lasted the two nights we stayed and really provided a relaxing break. It is very spacious and comfortable and the addition of the little shop to make emergency purchases was very valuable indeed, given its fairly remote (but beautiful) setting. Hishope Cottage is the nicest cottage we have ever stayed in and we have had many many cottage breaks before. The hot tub and 4 poster bed was wonderful. We had awful weather all week but the lovely cottage facilities made up for it. The big safe garden was a joy for our dog Molly. Thankyou Jane!

One of the most enjoyable holidays in ages! The cottage was just superb, everything was there, so cosy, clean and welcoming. The little extras, flowers, milk and homebaked cakes on arrival. The hot tub was a welcome treat after a long day touring around the beautiful Co Durham. Could not recommend it highly enough.

Beautiful cottage in a very peaceful location. The hot tub was a big plus. We travelled each day to various places of interest which at most were only half an hours drive away. We would highly recommend the Lanchester Garden Centre (15 mins away) with its brilliant restaurant, and the Beamish Outdoor Museum, which was amazing and takes a good 4-5 hRead morers to get round (half an hour away). Newcastle Metro centre was also only half an hour away. Or you can just chill in the cottage and go for walks. Hide

Such a wonderful, comfortable stay over Easter. We enjoyed many wonderful walks both from the cottage and nearby. Having never explored much of the North East before, we will certainly return!
