A majestic rural retreat for larger groups, sleeping eight and welcoming three dogs, this house offers sumptuous interiors and fantastic outdoor space. Your canine companion will adore exploring the grounds and sniffing out the extensive garden, while for the humans in your party there’s a summer house and patio furniture as well as BBQ and fire pit – perfect for toasting marshmallows as dusk falls. This is a house where everyone can have fun in the fresh air, whether that’s an outdoor table tennis competition or a good old game of fetch!
Inside, the house has the ornate decor of a traditional English country home: patterned wallpaper, rugs of intricate design, and colourful soft furnishings. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is bright and airy, with a wonderful source of natural light and a feature brick fireplace with a wood burner. There’ll never be a need to compete for space in front of the fire either: just head to the drawing room with its open fire, roll out your dog’s favourite blanket and relax into the Chesterfield sofas. Also boasting views of the garden and small pool table, the drawing room is a wonderful place to while away the evening. When it’s time, climb the stairs and choose from one of the charming bedrooms, each unique in style.
The Yorkshire Air Museum & Allied Forces Memorial is on your doorstep: a mere 0.5 miles away, and your canine companion is guaranteed a warm welcome! All the exhibition huts and hangars are dog-friendly and drinking water is provided. A little further on is York Maze (1.5 miles), which is open from July to September. For a countryside ramble, explore Kirkham Priory (15 miles) at the foot of the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or take a day trip to the vibrant and historic city of York (7 miles).
