Watch your delighted dog run across the sand at Thornham Beach in Norfolk. This inviting, mid-terrace carrstone cottage, which sleeps up to five and welcomes one canine companion, is set on the edge of the marshes within the North Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With far-reaching views towards the sea, it offers a serene setting for those who love the great outdoors and is also a heavenly haven where you and your four-legged friend can relax in front of an open fire.

Cross the wooden bridge over the dry creek, follow the path and open the front door into your three-bedroom holiday home. Experience a warm welcome in the homely lounge: lay a fire, switch on the TV and let Fido doze off and dream contentedly. Your kitchen/diner has everything you need to prepare delicious holiday dinners for everyone; feed your cheery chum on the floor while everyone else gathers around the table. A utility room, with washing machine and dryer, and a family bathroom are also at this level. Head up the steep, cottage-style stairs to your bedrooms: one has magical views across the marshes, while another has an en-suite WC and adjoins a third single room. Set your chum’s tail wagging by throwing balls for him in your spacious, lawned garden, which is not divided from the cottage next door.

Find many dog-friendly beaches close by – just ensure your furry friend is on a lead if passing through nature reserves to reach them. Drive 6.5 miles to Old Hunstanton, which also has no restrictions, and is known for its beautiful striped cliffs. Famous Holkham Beach, with its wide golden sands, is about 12 miles in the other direction and also perfect for stretching furry legs and watching your cheery chum charge around to his hearts’ content.

  • 3 bedrooms – 1 double room, 1 twin room, and 1 single room (which is accessed via the twin room)
  • 1 bathroom with electric shower over bath and WC, 1 en-suite WC
  • Electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer
  • Washing machine and tumble dryer in utility room
  • TV/DVD in lounge
  • Open fire (logs not provided)
  • Steep cottage style stairs
  • Large back garden with garden furniture, (please note that the garden is not divided from the neighbouring property)
  • Parking for 2 cars on the edge of the road in front of the house
  • Heating is by electric storage radiators
  • Shop, pub and beach within walking distance
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 1 dog allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week

A great location and generally very acceptable. Bed linen and towels provided and of good quality. A set of sharp knives and a cork screw would be useful. Warm and comfortable, ideal for bird watching and walking.

An excellent location especially for those with a dog. Very peaceful and a beautiful enclosed rear garden. No hot water in bathroom tap but we just used the bath taps. Upstairs loo didn't flush. Kitchen equipment could do with an upgrade - new frying pans for instance and some mixing bowls would have been handy. Everything else fine. A quiet cottage tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Pleasantly comfortable and appointed. Didn't wish for anything.

We found the cottage comfortable and ideal for our needs. It was generally well equipped, although we did feel that the kitchen could do with some updating. It is in an excellent location, particularly if your interest is birdwatching.

Lovely cottage with very pretty gardens front and back. The outward facing bedrooms both had lovely views. One of the marshes and a bit of the sea and the back garden and fields. Stayed for a week august 2022. Property description and photos very accurate. Quiet country Lane, 3 great pubs in walking distance and a deli, which is great for breakfast or brunch.
