Originally owned by the Early of Devon, this quirky property takes glamping to a new level with bags of history. Offering the perfect cosy home from home for the whole family.

Within the centre of the vibrant village of Braunton, this lovely four-bedroom cob cottage is perfect for friends and families, including four-legged members, seeking a comfortable base from which to explore the wonderful North Devon countryside and coastline. Feast on fish and chips from the local takeaway or enjoy an early evening drink in one of the dog-friendly pubs and cocktail bars. Take the lead for a walk along the Tarka Trail or romp along the 5 miles of sandy beach at dog-friendly Crow Point (3.5 miles).

One of the earliest dwellings in the village, your cosy cottage retains many original features creating an inviting space with plenty of character. Filled with natural light from the semi-glazed roof, rustle up delicious dinners in the well-equipped kitchen/diner and enjoy a relaxed family meal sat around the rustic dining table. Unwind after a day of adventures in the cosy lounge; snuggle up on one of the plump sofas while your hound warms their paws in front of the converted wood burner. There’s a selection of board games and puzzles available and even a dog-toy swap box so your four-legged friend doesn’t feel left out. Heading upstairs, you will find three bedrooms - a master double, and two singles, one with an additional pull-out bed.

The fourth bedroom is a king-size room located in the external annex, it is a very funky space with original artwork adorning the walls and having a very comfortable king size bed, wi-fi and top quality bedding, the barn is very rustic, only accessible by steep steps and has no bathroom facilities - so it’s best suited to those more intrepid individuals with a penchant for glamping.

Venturing outside, step onto the pretty decked area for a BBQ or evening sat chatting around the firepit. Beyond this, there is a large lawn and orchard where your pup can stretch their legs.

The popular North Devon town of Braunton has a choice of independent stores and boutiques, dog-friendly cafes and well-regarded restaurants. Play ball along the sand dunes at Braunton Burrows (2.5 miles) or along the expanse of beach at dog-friendly Saunton Sands (2.5 miles). Splash in the surf at Woolacombe Beach (7.5 miles) or set sail in search of seals and dolphins from Ilfracombe harbour (8.5 miles) with your canine companion at your side.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • 4 bedrooms – 1 double, 2 singles and 1 king size (in annex)
  • 1 bathroom

Situated on extremely noisy busy road No parking other than to unload - not easy to find alternative parking - Outside decking (rubbish collection area) in need of attention Provision of ordinary drinking cups rather than tin mugs would be good - some people may think quirky unfortunately not for me

A very cute cottage - we loved staying here! Lovely to be able to walk into town and have such easy access to things. We were a family of 5 plus 2 dogs staying, and the space was really great for our needs. Bedrooms were perfect, and we found the beds very comfortable. The barn/annex bedroom was fab, and squabbled over by our 2 teens! Sadly we didnRead more't have amazing weather to take advantage of the garden (which was MUCH bigger than expected) but the outside dining area is lovely - next time! Hide

Cobb Cottage is a real find in a beautiful part of Devon. In the middle of the lovely village of Braunton, it provides easy access to some amazing beaches (Croyde, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe to name a few). It has real charm and character and is clearly a labour of love for the owners. We loved it - the hammock in the garden, toys for the dog, a Read morewelcome cake. Do note that there was no freezer which was a minor inconvenience to us. But overall we loved it and would go back. Hide

As a family of 5 adults & 2 dogs, I was expecting the cottage to be a little small but it was perfect. It's comfy, welcoming & a gorgeous space with the most beautiful and HUGE garden! The cottage is very individual and pretty inside, and it has everything you need. The photos make it look bigger than it is and the lounge is a bit dark, but you wouldn't expect to spend a lot of time indoors anyway, so I'm not sure that matters.
