This charming stone barn has been lovingly renovated and provides a great taste of rural life, with the beautiful sought-after village of Wedmore just a mile away with all its amenities.

Escape with that special someone to the peaceful village of Wedmore, a hidden gem nestled between the Somerset Levels and the Mendip Hills. Of course, no staycation would be complete without your VIP pooch, and this charming stone barn has plenty of space for Fido’s basket. Wake up to tranquil breakfasts in your private garden, sipping your coffee whilst waggy-tailed guests sniff for rabbits in the dew.

Your picturesque bolthole is perfectly secluded, accessed via a wooden gate set in a hedgerow, which leads to a few steps and a winding path. Inside, this bijou-style retreat is a feast for the senses with polished wooden floors, cosy furniture and stylish decor. Prepare simple meals in the attractive kitchen area, enjoying candlelit dinners for two at the table. Your sleeping quarters are crisply dressed for a restful night’s slumber, and there is an elegant shower room for those refreshing morning showers. Relax on the sofa with a warming brew, stepping outside to bask in the early morning sunshine.

Your days will be filled with endless potential, whether you choose to stay close to home with a scenic walk across the gorgeous countryside, or are tempted to drive the 11-mile journey to the seaside. Burnham-on-Sea has a small dog-friendly stretch of sand with marsh, mudflats and lots of varied wildlife near the jetty, and furry visitors are welcome here all year round despite seasonal restrictions on the neighbouring beaches. To get the real seaside experience, Berrow 12 miles away has two fabulous beaches with no pooch restrictions. Change pace with a visit to one of the chocolate-box villages studded within the sloping Mendip Hills 11 miles away, refuelling with a hearty lunch at one of the welcoming pubs.

Small but perfectly formed! A lovely quiet place to stay. I enjoyed a delightful week writing and composing in this delightful spot. The owner was very welcoming and informative. I popped over to see the stunning Wells Cathedral and Vicars Close. The local village had good pubs and food. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommended.

Lovely property and a great base for exploring, Wedmore is just a short drive away as is Wells. Really comfortable, would stay again :)

A small but well equipped, clean and comfortable property, ideal for a couple and conveniently placed for exploring many parts of the area. The access is awkward for those of limited mobility. The parking space is OK but is best reversed into. The owners are extremely pleasant and helpful and do all they can to help with any difficulties.

Really clean and well equipped place to stay. The treats we found on arrival were great - and being greeted when we arrived was a very kind, thoughful and welcome gesture. Thank you for providing a lovely place for us and or Dally to call 'home' on our visit to Somerset. Lovely scenery, walks and places to visit, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
