With direct access to the loch through the nearby meadow, and within easy reach of bustling Pitlochry and the Tay Forest Park, it offers everything that a family and up to two of their canine companions could need.
This 19th-century farmhouse is full of charm and character, with all modern-day comforts alongside the traditional delights of an AGA and a wood burner. The tastefully furnished sitting room is the perfect spot to sit back and relax, and your four-pawed pal will soon make himself at home in front of the open fire. The snug is perfect for children needing a bit of their own space, and the large, traditional kitchen is a lovely room in which to enjoy a meal together and socialise. Outside, the large garden is perfect for a game of fetch or for the children to run off some energy while you sit in the sun with a drink and take in the view.
The loch is easily reached through the meadow at the end of the garden and is ideal for a walk. Just 1.5 miles away is Queen's View – one of the most famous viewpoints in Scotland. Take in the spectacular view of the loch and then treat yourself to a slice of cake in the dog-friendly visitor centre café. The buzzing town of Pitlochry (8 miles) offers much to explore, from shops and museums to festivals and markets. The impressive Blair Castle (10 miles) has superb gardens and grounds that you and your four-pawed pal will love to explore. Pack a picnic and follow the sculpture trail, and watch out for peacocks, red deer and red squirrels.
