Whether for a family or a couple on a romantic break, two four-legged friends are also welcome, so all the family can come. Spend hours exploring the ancient Jurassic Coast by day with hours of heart-pumping, leg-stretching, sea-swimming fun, and in the evening return to the warm welcome of comfortable sofas, cosy beds and perhaps a snooze in front of a roaring fire.

 

Inside discover a spacious and comfortable conversion, and after drying off wet fur and wiping muddy paws clean in the garage, grab the spot in front of the Aga to warm those toes. Perfect for unwinding after an exuberant day of exploring, prepare some supper in the well-equipped kitchen, share the meal in the charming dining area, then retire to the lounge and snuggle down for a film whilst your furry friend sprawls in front of the open fire - just make sure you get a good spot too! A gem of a cottage in a great location on a quiet cul de sac. There's a wealth of things to do in the area. There are nice walks from the cottage and lovely beaches within a short drive. There is also a recreation ground across the road from the cottage which was ideal to take our dog first thing in the morning. The cottage is tastefully furnished Read moreand very comfortable. Lovely open space cottage with everthing you want/need. Very comfortable king size bed. Aga was a bonus as you could just pop anything in to heat it up. Plenty of local walks and a very dog friendly pub about 350yds away and a village shop with post office.

Blackbird cottage is a spacious, comfortable cottage with everything you should need for a wonderful stay. It's location is superb for exploring this part of the country, particularly if you want to stay somewhere quieter, away from the towns. It is an easy drive to the coast and to many places of interest, so much to do! Highly recommend.

My husband and I and 2grandaughters have been to blackbird barn,in winfrith newburgh,now 5 times,it really is super,home from home,u can go out or have a Barby!!in complete seclusion.Ok this year weather not GT,went to our fav,place studland 2,*but that didn't stop us having a really happy time.In fact we r already thinking of next year.

Very pleasurable stay and will definitely book it again . It was clean and tidy on arrival and very well equipped. I liked the fact that it had a freezer with a few drawers. It meant that I could make/Freeze some meals before we went and then take them with us . It was good to be able to go out and about all day and just warm up the defrosted mealsRead more . Fabulous place to stay. Jane has made sure there is everything you need in the house. I stayed during a cold snap but the house was lovely and warm and the addition of the open fire was perfect. Bed linen and towels are really good quality. Jane was a really great host. The location is great for local walks and is close to some of Dorsets best placRead morees to visit. Absolutely superb accommodation, the best we have ever stayed in. Barn was very spacious and lots of personal touches, pictures etc making it a home from home. Good for dogs as a there is an enclosed courtyard. Very useful village shop and newsagents also a farm shop a few minutes walk see away. Would highly recommend.

Blackbird Barn makes an excellent base for exploring everything this area has to offer - beaches, coastal walks, pretty villages, Tank Museum, Monkey World. Immaculately clean and touches such as fresh flowers make it a real home-from-home. Village shop and pub within easy walking distance.

The accommodation had everything we could ask for and it is in a perfect location for exploring the area. Beaches are in close proximity but via a vehicle. Visitor attractions such as the Tank museum, Maiden castle, Poole, with it's boat tours, all not too far away. If you want a takeaway, there's only 1 that delivers on just eat (A nice Indian) SoRead more my only recommendation is to get shopping on your way there eg if you want vegan or pizzas. Cottage is ideally situated for a walking holiday in Dorset, which is what my wife and I wanted. Close to Dorset assets such as Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Portland Bill. Not to far away is Corfe Castle, Kingstons Macy and Dorchester and a little further away is Lyme Regis. lovely cottage very homely and comfortable and great location for touring the area. Small enclosed courtyard to the rear so you can let your dog out but the front garden is open. Lovely walks from the cottage along grassy tracks one of which takes you to the farm shop which is excellent also a village shop 5 minutes walk away for all essentials.
