This unique property, with its upside-down layout, has all the charm of a typical countryside cottage. Exposed wooden beams, wooden flooring and latched wooden doors decorate the inside of this cottage whilst stone makes up the exterior. The patio seating area outside the property is perfect for sipping your morning coffee or making the most of the evening sunshine with a smoky BBQ. Surrounded by vast countryside, there are plenty of walking routes for you and your furry friends to explore right from your front door.

The property is entered via the ground floor where you’ll find the two thoughtfully decorated bedrooms, with the double room including a traditional dressing table. Venture upstairs and you are greeted by the large open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With views out to the village, this space is the hub of the home. Enjoy a home-cooked meal at the dining table with its quirky bench seating, or rustle up some snacks to be shared on the corner sofa whilst watching a favourite programme on the TV. The shower room with WC can also be found on the first floor. Head outside to the walled patio area for a BBQ in the warm weather or take your four-legged friends for a game of fetch in the rear field if it’s empty.

The property is situated in the heart of the Peak District National Park and with walking and cycle routes right at your front door, there is plenty of countryside for you to see and explore. The spa town of Buxton (12 miles) offers a great range of activities for everyone to enjoy including its pavilion gardens, country park, museum and art gallery and Go Ape adventure park. 12 miles away, Carsington Water has a range of water sports including a visitor centre where you can enjoy a spot of lunch afterwards.

Although a cute cottage, there were some downsides to staying here. The bathroom didn't come with soap to wash our hands; the bed was incredibly creaky meaning we didn't get much sleep; it seems the heater in the bedroom was broken but this wasn't explained to us, the replacement heater was very dusty and we didn't feel safe leaving it on unattendeRead mored; the front door was difficult to open; and the shower is in darkness due to the lack of lighting in the bathroom. Although advertised as for 4, it would be a tight squeeze to have 4 especially if all adults. Facilities available are fairly basic. Single beds more suited to children than adults. Although in village location, access to the cottage is narrow. Stairs - difficult for older folk to negotiate. No drying facilities included.

lovely cottage, plenty big enough for the two of us may be a little small for 4 adults but saying that it would depend how much time you spend in the cottage

Amazing location with lovely views. Quiet, peaceful property yet in the heart of the village. A basic, compact apartment, perfect for those making the most of the outdoors.

The cottage is really cute and was very clean . Totally adequate for 2 but would have been a squash for 4. Being an elderly couple we found the stairs particularly awkward. Would have like more cooking utensils such as smaller saucepans and a measuring jug for making sauces.

Cosy, warm cottage in a cosy warm village. Big enough for two plus two, with all you need and nothing more. Great location in the Dales, fab services in the village. Highly recommended.

This cottage is located in a beautiful village with great amenities and friendly folk. Perfect for for exploring the peak district. Suited for for 2 people but in my view too snug for 4 unless you are out a lot! The 2 of us enjoyed our week.

This is a very tiny but comfortable cottage in the lovely Derbyshire village of Hartington. We were 3 adults and, although it will sleep 4, we felt that the space would have been inadequate had there been 4 of us. Please note there is no EV charging point in the village. Great location and facilities in the village. If there are 4 adults staying in the cottage it might be a bit of a squeeze.

Charming cottage close to pretty village centre but quietly nestled away from passing traffic. Ideal for two and a dog. Decor would benefit from a little freshen up but overall it was ideal to return to after a day out in the dales. The sofa and beds were clean and comfortable and certainly made for a relaxing break.
