This semi-detached cottage, in the quiet village of Taddington, is perfect for couples and small families who would like to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Peak District National Park.

Located midway between the pretty towns of Buxton and Bakewell, this traditional stone cottage is ideally placed for enjoying the many picturesque walks on the doorstep. Sleeping up to four guests thanks to a pull-out bed in the single bedroom, it’s a fantastic countryside bolthole for small families. On arrival you’ll find a doggy welcome pack and guide, to ensure even the furriest of friends feels at home.

Packed with original charm but filled with contemporary comforts, the cottage is a welcome spot in which to relax and unwind. Light the wood burner on a cold winter evening and snuggle up on the plush sofa, with Fido curled up at your feet. Enjoy your favourite TV show or watch one of the DVDs the owners have kindly provided - perfect for a family night in. Head up the open metal staircase to the bedrooms on the first floor; one king-size and one single. Take your morning coffee outside and bask in the warm sunshine and fresh country air from the split-level courtyard. A picnic bench makes the lower level an idyllic spot for an al fresco breakfast, while your canine pal stretches his or her legs on the upper level.

Venture to nearby Monsal Dale (5.5 miles) and wander its famous trail along the river or climb to Monsal Head, one of the most photographed viewpoints in Derbyshire. Millers Dale (5 miles) and High Dale (14 miles) are also close by. Explore the gardens at Chatsworth House (9.5 miles) before visiting the popular Chatsworth Farm Shop (7.5 miles) to stock up on local goodies. Speaking of goodies, don’t forget to try the famous tart from nearby Bakewell (5.5 miles)!

Just returned from a lovely week at the cottage. Really clean and comfortable and lovely and warm, particularly with the wood burner going. You can get logs, firelighters and kindling at Chatsworth farm shop, which is 10 mins away and well worth a visit. So much lovely food and drink! Bakewell village is pretty, dont forget to try the bakewell puddRead moreing as well as the tart. Be warned. The garden is enclosed but our sprollie managed to jump the wall, so keep an eye on bigger dogs. Hide

A well located cottage in a friendly village with easy access to many places to visit. The cottage is very well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Location was absolutely brilliant for a variety of walks and days out exploring. The neighbours were friendly but not in your face. The kitchen was small but very well equipped. It was nice to have a kitchen with a greater, pealer and decent pans to use as so often this is forgotten!
