After a fun day of exploring, chill out in the cosy lounge area, where the woofer will love dozing in front of the roaring wood burner. The property has spectacular views out over the garden and surrounding countryside, and handy doors open from the lounge area so the dog can potter in and out. Outside, they’ll love sniffing around on the large lawned area and in the wildflower meadow whilst you sit back and enjoy a spot of wildlife watching.
For an exhilarating walk, head to St Catherine’s Hill (5 miles away). The climb through the nature reserve will get pulses racing, but it’s worth the effort for the spectacular views over Winchester. There are numerous routes you can pick up along the 100-mile South Downs Way. A lovely 6-mile route takes you from the vibrant city of Winchester (5 miles away) to Cheesefoot Head, following the River Itchen. For a fun family day out, visit Butser Ancient Farm (18 miles away). Dogs are welcome on leads and you can explore Stone Age houses and Saxon Hall, plus there are some great hands-on activities for children. In Owslebury itself you’ll find loads of walking trails and a charming dog-friendly pub just 0.5 miles away.
