Surrounded by open rolling countryside, this five-bedroom period farmhouse is ideal for families, including the canine members, to explore the glorious countryside and coastline of Cardigan Bay. Enjoy peaceful countryside walks straight from the front door or along the sand and shingle beach at Llanrhystud (4 miles). The university town of Aberystwyth (5.5 miles) has a host of dog-friendly pubs and cafes. Take the lead along the promenade to the 13th-century castle ruins or climb up Constitution Hill for far-reaching views across the bay.

Entering into the lobby, where you can remove walking boots and wipe clean muddy paws, you’ll go barking mad for the bright and airy interior, decorated in neutral tones with bright splashes of colour. Cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen where you will find everything you need for a home-from-home stay. Take your meals in the bright and airy dining room while your hound stretches out in the adjoining conservatory. After supper, relax in the cosy living room where your pup can warm his paws in front of the traditional wood burner. Upstairs are five well-appointed bedrooms, one with en-suite facilities, and the family bathroom. Outside, your canine companion can sniff out his favourite snoozing spot on the patio while you indulge in a soak in the private hot tub.

The area surrounding the farmhouse is a haven for dog walkers with long ambles on the doorstep. Roam along the sand dunes at nearby Ynyslas (13.5 miles) or follow one of the circular walks to take in the seashore and estuary views. Head inland to the Bwlch Nant-y-Arian Forest where you can sniff out your favourite trail in search of the resident red kites. Enjoy a memorable ride through the beautiful countryside with your pup on the Vale of Rheidol Railway (5 miles), hopping off to discover the stunning cascades at Devil’s Bridge.

A spacious and well equipped house. It's very isolated with fabulous views. The night sky was magnificent with the Milky Way visible. To visit anywhere a car is essential but there are plenty of places of interest within a 45 minute journey. Lovely place to stay but we were blessed with fabulous weather.

Lovely isolated location and some great walks. Nice walk to Llanrhystud along the coast and then great food and drink in the Cabin. Nice beach here too dog friendly and a bit of sand at low tide. Constitution Hill is good with good cafe at the top. Butterfly house small but great staff and hands on with some amazing insects. Then the the river and Read morewaterfalls further down the track are great for a swim in good weather. A very relaxing and beautiful place Hide

The house was perfect for our needs. Stayed with 6 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs and everyone was happy. Ample facilities including a barbecue which we used on a good day. Lots of grounds for the dogs to roam. Quiet secluded house but not too far from local amenities.

Beautiful property in a fabulous location. Peace and quiet. Good location to discover the lovely Welsh coast. The cottage is full of character and BIG! Wonderful garden for the kids and dogs, although it's not enclosed so you would need to keep an eye on the dogs because there are lots of rabbits in the undergrowth at the back of the cottage.
