Full of character and charm, this quaint and cosy cottage is the perfect bolthole for a romantic retreat. Explore the nearby markets and visit the historic seaside resort of West Bay on the Jurassic Coast.

The most idyllic bolthole for a romantic retreat or indulgent solo break with your four-legged friend at your side, this two-person cottage in Beaminster offers comfort, privacy and location. Sat within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and only 8 miles from the coast, look forward to days shirking responsibility, scouting out fossils in the sand while your canine companion enthusiastically sniffs out all manner of exciting new scents. At the end of each day, return home to see out the last of the sunshine in the garden, vino for you and a well-deserved chew for you pup.

Flaunting an attractive Ham stone façade, the inside of this charming Grade-II listed cottage pays homage to its roots with lots of original features whilst enjoying a soft, contemporary finish. Particularly cosy, the lounge has grand flagstone floors and a pared-back design scheme, warmed by sink-in-able furnishings and a crackling wood burner set back in a feature fireplace. In winter, tuck into breakfasts in the kitchen’s dining area, and in summer, head out onto the patio for tea and toast in the sunshine while Fido goofs about on the walled garden’s lawn. At the end of day, seek out another uninterrupted night’s sleep in the upstairs bedroom, where the cottage’s heritage is revealed in its open beams and beautifully wonky ceilings.

Once you are ready to explore the surrounds, there will be all sorts of weird and wonderful things to capture your dog’s imagination. Say hello to other dogs on the year-round dog-friendly beach at Eype (8.5 miles) and stock up on goodies in Bridport (6.5 miles), including much-deserved doggy biscuits. For a cultural fix, head to the magnificent Sherborne Castle (18.5 miles); dogs are welcome to explore the gardens and grounds

Lovely cottage, comfortable and perfect for 2 people; great location with easy walking access to all amenities. However, not always possible to park outside, so need to plan to park in paid long-term car park 5 minutes walk away. Beaminster is a charming little town, ideally located close to lots of great walking and tourist attractions. We had a fRead moreabulous week and have no hesitation in recommending to others! Charming village excellent location, quiet, cottage takes u back in time. Ext comfortable huge bed, super log burner + pretty v useable garden. Cd imagine that parking close to the property in peak season might be tricky but church bells do not disturb even with windows open. Pls note there is a washing machine (not listed in spec)

A beautifully clean and comfortable cottage on a pretty quiet road near the church. The kitchen was well thought out and the garden was secluded and secure - perfect for our little dog. The sitting room was very comfortable and it was lovely to be able to light the wood burner after a day out walking. Upstairs the bedroom had an extremely comfortabRead morele super king size bed and it was lovely to hear the chimes of the church bells. A perfect position to explore the area. Bell Cottage, Beaminster was delightful, very clean, tidy, well appointed, comfortable, quiet and warm. We had a most enjoyable week there in September 2020. There is a attractive little garden that we appreciated with comfortable seats and a table and chairs.

We've been to this cottage before and love the relaxing feel of it. It is ideally situated for visits to Lyme Regis, Weymouth, etc., and also lots of picturesque walks nearby. Also, if you want the best fish and chips, visit The Hive on the Beach at Burton Bradstock. Even I loved them, and I'm not really a fan of chips.

If you want a small quirky cottage in the middle of Beaminster, close to all the towns facilities then choose this. We have rented the cottage for several years and enjoy it but it is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Small but perfectly formed accommodation for a couple. Well equipped with everything you could reasonably need. Lovely private and peaceful garden. Located in a very quiet street close to church but 2 minutes walk to centre of Beaminster and the shops. Cant recommend it highly enough.

Parking was a bit of an issue. Although we always managed to find somewhere in the vicinity, after a day out we were a little apprehensive about finding a space, which put an unpleasant end to an otherwise enjoyable day. Likewise, when we were loading the car on our final day, we had to double park which wasn't very satisfactory. Delightful cottage. Garden was a real bonus. Bed was very comfortable. The stairs are 'unusual' and someone with mobility problems would find them difficult. Parking can be an issue, but it did not spoil our holiday. People in Beaminster were lovely and friendly
