This quirky cottage, set on the historic Beaulieu Estate, is a great place for families looking to roam the New Forest with their four-legged companions. Sleeping four across three spacious bedrooms, this characterful property offers space for two daring dogs. And as you’re in the heart of the New Forest National Park, there’s plenty to keep tails wagging all holiday long.
Inside, the stylish interior is an elegant blend of old and new. From the parking area, take a step down to the brick-paved terrace before discovering the open-plan kitchen and living area. Wooden floors are forgiving on mucky paws while the comforting wood burner is the perfect place for canine companions to curl up and enjoy a cosy night in. Climb the narrow spiral staircase up to the large open-plan bedroom which features a super king-size bed at one end and a single at the other. Or if your mutt prefers solitary snoozing, the upstairs mezzanine features a single bed with lovely views out over the Beaulieu River. Heading outside, the pretty terrace is the perfect place to enjoy a warm summer’s evening around the charcoal BBQ. Just make sure you save a sausage for Rex; he’ll need refuelling after exploring the surrounding gardens.
With the River Beaulieu right at the bottom of the garden, you have access to some fabulous riverside rambles. Take the 2.5-mile stroll up to Buckler’s Hard and savour the wonderful sights of the Beaulieu Estate. The New Forest National Park, meanwhile, has so much to discover whether on two legs or four. After a long day of adventure, treat your furry friends to dinner at the local riverside pub.
