A super shepherds hut enjoying lovely country views by day, stargazing at night, with a quality interior and a superb outside space with your very own bespoke hot tub.

Set a mile southeast of Llandyfan on the edge of the stunning Brecon Beacons, this superb shepherd’s hut is perfectly placed to explore the unique delights of South Wales. The pretty market town of Llandeilo is 5 miles to the north, with the National Trust’s Dinefwr Estate and Castle half a mile to the west. Believed to be the most haunted abode in Wales, the wonderfully gothic Newton House is at the centre of the estate - canine companions might be glad of their leads! The ruined castle and caves of Carreg Cennen (4 miles) are doggy heaven. With the Beacons so close, you’re never far from amazing adventures.

Inside the hut you’ll find quaint country charm and cosy home comforts, with a bespoke, hand-crafted ambience that’s uniquely thrilling. The open-plan living space is joyful, with its country-style kitchen, wood burner, hand-made double bed and sublime views of the surrounding, sylvan landscape. It’s the little loving touches, like the utensil rack, slate hearth and stable door that turn a hut into a home. Outside, sink into hot tub bubbles and dream of new adventures, crack open a bottle with a BBQ as evening falls or savour sunrise coffee and croissants on the decking.

Furry friends will love to explore the 568 acres of idyllic countryside at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales (13 miles) – every Monday is Doggy Day, hooray! Garn Coch Iron Age Fort (9 miles) and the surrounding countryside will astound. Llyn Lech Owain County Park (8 miles) is a dog-friendly sanctuary thronging with wildlife. Llangadog and the western villages of Capel Gwynfe, Bethlehem, Trap, Myddfai and Llanddeusant are well worth a visit, offering exceptional views of the Black Mountain, and a spiritual odyssey for those inclined. Amazing memories await.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Very nice owners, the hot tub takes 7+ hours to warm up so we never had time to go in it. Felt quite open as it was in a working equestrian and there was quite a bit of graffiti. Land lady was lovely. It was a nice place but I wouldnt return.

A beautiful little hut in a convenient location. Clean, tidy and tastefully decorated. Enclosed area, safe and secure for the dog,she loved to play all day. Hot tub is lovely and warm but it did take 6 hours to heat up and took half the wood supplied so be prepared to heat it up nice and early. Lots of flies so dont open the window by the bed! SketRead morechy wifi and only works for short time if you hold your phone up high by the "bedroom" window. Can get cold in the early hours when the fire goes out Hide

This is the second time we have stayed in the shepherds hut, we enjoyed both times. The WiFi can be a bit sketchy, however it did not ruin our time here. Tim & penny are brilliant and on hand for any extra information needed also any of your requirements. We look forward to going again on the future.

We had a wonderful extended honeymoon staying in the shepherds hut. Tim & Penny were the most accommodating and helpful hosts, particularly when it came to helping with the hot tub in the pouring Welsh rain! It really made our stay special. There is so much to see and do in the local area that we didnt get to see, so we will have to come back!

It was exactly what we were looking for and easily made me the most relaxed Ive ever been. Tim was very helpful and both Tim and Penny were talkative when we bumped into them and had a chat but they gave us the privacy needed. Only thing for me that really annoyed me was the sheer volume of flies but thats to be expected in the countryside I guess.Read more Hide
