This is a lovely property, which we found very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Lovely cottage with great amenities. A few spiders - September in the countryside, expect it - but were easily removed to the delightful garden area. Heaters take a few minutes, but are very good at dispelling the autumnal chill. Everything you are likely to need is there. The owner popped by to say hello and lives very close by. Local pub (HuntersRead more Inn) is delightful - BUT drive to it, the walk is too dangerous. Will stay again. Hide

We had a wonderful week at Balches Hayloft, the high ceilings made the rooms feel really spacious, the place was spotlessly clean, well-equipped and in a great, central location for exploring North Devon. The master bedroom having an en-suite shower room was a real bonus and the owner Jess was lovely and made us very welcome.

Before our visit we had read that the owner was friendly and helpful and she more than lived up to this reputation. The property was lovely and spacious, exceptionally well equipped and easy to manage. None of the machines (DVD , cooker etc) were complicated to use which has not been the case in many cottages we have visited. Lovely to have a decenRead moret sized TV!
