Escape to the country and enjoy a stay off the beaten track with this unforgettable self-catering accommodation, enjoying life on a working farm and close proximity to the Brecon Beacons.

Located in the Cambrian Mountains, an area once known as the ‘green desert of Wales’, two and four-legged visitors will love exploring the many walks and trails on the doorstep of this homely hideaway for two plus two dogs. With secure shared storage for bikes and boats and a handy wet room for cleaning off all that Welsh mud, you and your pups can explore to your hearts content whatever the weather!

Be instantly welcomed to a unique barn conversion, a lovely place to call home. Snuggle down in the lounge, where comfortable seating and a small selection of books creates an inviting place to relax, while your four-legged friend can curl up at your feet for a snooze. Make a romantic meal for two and dine alfresco in the evening sun. After a rejuvenating nights sleep, start the day with a wander outside and soak up the sounds of the countryside, enjoying a coffee on the furnished patio watching your pup potter in the morning sun.

Surrounded by livestock and wildlife in the heart of Powys, keen mountaineers will enjoy exploring the local area on foot, or jump in the car to discover the Brecon Beacons National Park (20.5 miles) a little further afield. Take a stroll around Builth Wells (11.5 miles) to discover independent stores, delicious local produce and Welsh heritage sites. The stay was pretty faultless. The views are amazing and the peace, quiet and serenity of the location is second to none. The cottage was clean, had everything that you needed and felt homely. Having no phone signal gave you that proper break, though you could pick up signal a short distance away if you wanted. We would absolutely recommend this plRead moreace! Wonderful views of the hills. So quiet, it was rare to have a vehicle go past. Lovely drives up the lanes to the cottage.

Warmly welcomed by Mary as we arrived at Bach Cottage, a comfortable, well equipped and cosy base for a very rural break in the Welsh hills surrounded by sheep and birdsong, with lovely views. There is no wifi or phone signal and we forgot to bring cards or a board game which would have been nice when the wind & rain was extreme for one of our daysRead more there, but there are books and plenty of tv channels. There are some lovely walks around the hills and plenty of interest for days out. Just lovely. Hide
