This fabulous property has been lovingly furnished, and with stunning views over the Blackmore Vale yet just two hours from London by train, provides a perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle.

This pretty property is located in the grounds of the owners’ home in the pretty village of Cucklington and is a great base from which to explore the three counties of Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire, including Shaftesbury with its farmers market. Walkers and cyclists are well catered for with numerous circular routes direct from the village and ever popular Cheddar Gorge just an hour by car. Similarly, the stunning south coast with fabulous beaches at Bournemouth, Swanage, Weymouth, Lyme Regis and Chesil, and world renowned scenery at Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, is about an hour away. Other attractions accessible include the historic spa city of Bath, Wells, the smallest city in England, National Trust Montacute and Stourhead, Longleat Safari Park and Stonehenge.

This delightful property is accessed via a short flight of stone steps and through a lovely stable door, and as you step through this you will immediately find yourself in the stunning open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner and on the first floor. Here fabulous high windows provide expansive views over the Blackmore Vale, and comfortable leather sofas sit in front of a Smart TV with DVD. The kitchen area is also beautifully presented and well-equipped with an electric oven and double hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. Heading down the stairs and onto the ground floor you will then find the pretty bedrooms and these consist of a king-size with TV and also a cosy single bedroom. A shower room with WC is also located on the lower ground floor and completes the offering inside the property.

Venturing outside, a designated garden area with stunning countryside view, seating and fire-pit, has been provided for the sole use of guests and is located on the periphery of the owners’ garden. Derestricted roadside parking is located on the country road directly outside.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Host was very genial, but my husband and i were disappointed with the lack of cooking facilities and cooking equipment. We had to eat out all the time, where as we like to usually try out the local fare and cook an evening meal now and again.

A very pretty cottage in a quiet and beautiful location with fabulous views. Ben, the owner, was very welcoming, and invited to use his huge garden. There are no amenities in the hamlet and the nearest pub is a good 45 - 60 minute walk away, but if peace and tranquility is your thing, then it can be found here!

The property has stunning views from the lounge and is situated perfectly for dog walking directly from the door. There was plenty of room for me, my husband and our large dog. We very much enjoyed our stay at Babwell Barn. One could not wish for a more peaceful place. The layout of the cottage takes full advantage of the superb views over unspoilt country as far as the horizon. We had a wonderful relaxing holiday, Ben our host was extremely helpful and friendly! The location was lovely and quiet, but, still central to most of the places we wanted to visit. We would definitely like to return there at a later date.

The barn is just perfect for a quiet and relaxing break. The views from the lounge windows are amazing!!! Ben is the perfect host. Very helpful and friendly but not intrusive. Gave good recommendations for walks and places to visit and local pubs, Would definitely recommend this holiday property.
