Sleeping six humans and two dogs in five-star luxury, this Devon cottage is a wonderful place to stay in the South West. Find thoughtful attention to detail throughout the property including a downstairs bedroom and bathroom, a spacious living area, and enclosed outside spaces which include an outdoor shower – don’t forget to pack that dog shampoo if you’re bringing your four-pawed pup! Set in peaceful countryside, with meadow access, you’ll never be short of daily walks. The North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is just 7 miles away with charming fishing villages, seaside towns, and heritage sites, while rugged country moors call for canine scampers (9 miles).

Step inside this contemporary-style property with high ceilings and restful decor. Enjoy home-cooked feasts in the open-plan kitchen and dining area. The appliances make light work of dinner so it won’t be long until you’re heading upstairs for family films in the living room – pup pals may hog the space by the wood burner after a day on the South West Coast Path. Refresh in the family bathrooms and relax in the cosy bedrooms made up of a super-king-size bedroom on the ground floor with terrace access, plus a king and a double on the lower ground floor. Enjoy morning brews on the enclosed BBQ patio while your dog chases around the enclosed garden. We had an amazing holiday, the owners were especially fantastic & friendly, the house was extremely well appointed & the North Devon monopoly set was well used. Our 2 Labradors loved the fully enclosed garden & their walks & paddles in the fields & stream were throughly enjoyed.. Lovely property and nice owner. Quality finishing. Our dog was safe in the garden, we could wash him off after walks and use the paddock for afternoon walks. Close to Barnstable for food shop and 30 minutes or less in every direction we could get to different beaches and walks. Parents stayed for a night too and enjoyed. An amazing cottage which is very well equipped, immaculate throughout and in a beautiful setting. The outside space is secure for dogs and having access to the fields is a bonus. Would love to return again soon.

Highly recommend Ashtree Cottage. Lovely rural location at the end of a country lane. High end appliances and decor. The upper bedroom was so nice, comfortable bed and fab wardrobes. Make sure you take nespresso coffee capsules as there is a great coffee machine.

Thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay. Lovely to find scones, cream & (delicious) homemade strawberry Jam ready to be devoured on arrival. All rooms exceptionally clean & well presented. All slept well, bed linen towels etc all immaculate. Quiet surrounding area with birds twittering & river rushing at the bottom of the field, after recent rain; lovelyRead more & relaxing. One of the best holiday homes we have ever stayed in. Amazing location, perfecting for walking the dog. Wendy the host was friendly and helpful. Everything was designed for maximum comfort.Loved the huge comfy bed, shower and coffee machine.

We gladly rated 5 stars for comfort but doubt we would have been able to give such a high score if more than 4 adults had been staying. We found the heating controls difficult to adjust to obtain sufficient warmth when needed. The owner was very helpful when we were in touch with her; the welcome treats left for us were a very enjoyable surprise. A lovely cottage, when you look at the location it might seem to be remote but everywhere seems to be just a 20minute drive away - perfect for exploring the North Devon Beaches. The whole cottage was beautifully presented and maintained, one of the nicest cottages we have ever stayed in. Will book again next time we are down this way.

I stayed at this stunning cottage for a week in July and could not have been more impressed! I treated my parents to a well deserved break as due to ill health, they hadn't been on holiday for a while and they absolutely loved it. 6 of us stayed at the cottage with two dogs and it was absolutely perfect. We had good weather so ate outside every night, thoroughly enjoying the BBQ and garden furniture! Everything was clear, the owners were very kind and helpful with suggestions. Would thoroughly recommend.
