Lying at the foothills of the Cairngorms, this bespoke detached house is a gorgeous base for outdoor pursuits and snow sports. It’s ideal for dog-loving families and groups of friends as up to four canine companions can join you on your holiday. After a day spent walking the famous Cateran Trail, head back to base for a game of pool or a dip in the private hot tub while the furry ones have a nap.
This luxury property certainly has the ‘bow-wow’ factor, with a light and bright open-plan living area overlooking the garden. Relax in front of the wood burner in the lounge as you drift off to music on the Bluetooth surround sound system. Following a slap-up evening meal, the dining table can be converted to a pool table for some after dinner fun. There’s also a games room with table football and board games to bring out your competitive streak – who will be top dog? Upstairs there are five stylish bedrooms, each with a different colour scheme. From the master bedroom, step out through the French doors on to the Juliet balcony for lovely woodland views over the River Ardle. The fully enclosed garden outside provides a safe haven for children and pets, who can scamper around to their heart’s content while you dine under the stars.
As the property is in the village of the Bridge of Cally, you’ll have less than 300 metres to walk to find a dog-friendly pub and general store. The immediate area is a paradise for walking, with the Cateran Trail and the three magnificent glens of Glenericht, Strathardle and Glenshee bound to set tails wagging. Glenshee (11.5 miles) is also a top spot for skiing and snowboarding. For leisurely lunches and riverside walks, head to Blairgowrie (6 miles).
