Property code: CA018

Nestled on the edge of stunning Loch Arkaig, this lovely property is a fantastic getaway for families, including four-legged members, seeking a tranquil and peaceful retreat. Spend your days strolling along the calming banks of the loch and through the alder and willow woodland that surrounds it. Take the lead on a walk to the beautiful Eas Chia-aig waterfall (2.5 miles) and sniff out the perfect picnic spot.

Tails will wag as you approach your single-storey cottage, set against a backdrop of the loch and surrounding mountains. Decorated in a palette of fresh, neutral shades, your rural retreat has a light and airy feel, creating a calm and restful atmosphere. Your bright kitchen/diner has everything you need to rustle up family meals to share around the centrally positioned dining table. After supper, step into the inviting lounge and curl up in one of the cosy armchairs with a glass of wine and your pup snoozing in front of the wood burner. When it’s time for bed, there are three cosy bedrooms: a double with en-suite bathroom, a standard twin room and a second twin bedroom with child-size beds. Stepping outside, sit back and admire the scenery from your patio in the large enclosed garden where there is plenty of space for your hound to stretch their paws.

With walks from the doorstep through the unspoilt landscape, your holiday cottage is not to be sniffed at. Further afield, ‘the crossroads of the Highlands’, Spean Bridge (11.5 miles) boasts a choice of independent shops and dog-friendly pubs to retire to after a bracing walk to the panoramic viewpoint of the Commando Memorial. Spend the day discovering Fort William (17.5 miles) where you and your canine companion can enjoy a leisurely cruise along Loch Eil or put your best paw forward on a hike up Ben Nevis.
