This pretty cottage, is in the seaside town of Appledore, is a perfect retreat for couples and small families alike.

This stylish cottage has a bright and contemporary feel with interesting and original features. It is located in the heart of Appledore, a thriving seaside village brimming with cafes, local art galleries, pubs and shops along pretty narrow lanes. The vibrant quayside is fabulous for ice creams and gentle evening strolls with your canine companion. A small family or a couple of friends with a dog will fit in here very comfortably.

The cottage has a light open-plan living area, divided by a few steps, with bi-fold doors opening out onto a lovely sociable space. The kitchen/diner has all you need to cook up a feast and the living room has a wood burner, perfect to curl up in front of in cooler months. The spacious family bathroom is also on this level. A Mediterranean-style, whitewashed courtyard with a BBQ invites you to dine outside in the evening sun, along with a treat and a belly rub to set the pup’s tail wagging. There is storage for surfboards and bikes so you can bring them along, and when you are ready to sleep, an authentic cottage-style staircase leads up to two relaxing bedrooms, both with pretty, nautical-inspired artwork.

The dog-friendly ferry across to Instow is a fun way to reach a beautiful beach. It welcomes dogs all year round at the top end, away from town. The long stretch of sands at Westward Ho! is less than two miles away and is perfect for surfing, building sandcastles and a fish and chip lunch. Here your fur baby can run, off-lead, and chase waves at designated ends of the beach. If you want to enjoy a coastal hike, join the South West Coast Path in Appledore for an almost 7-mile circular walk around Northam Burrows, passing one of Europe’s biggest former shipyards and an ancient Viking battleground.

Super comfy, cosy cottage in a great location just off Appledore's main Irsha Street. Parking cost 22.50 for the week in the main quay harbour and just a short walk from the property. Great location for all of the villages amenities and well equipped for a comfortable stay. We loved it and will definitely be back! :)

A wonderful few days! Perfect location & perfect weather. The cottage was dog friendly, modern and clean and a two minute walk to the Quay. No parking space but there is a car park a very short distance away with reasonable charges.

Lovely compact cottage with an excellent down stairs bath room with shower. The steep twisting stairs were a challenge for my wife but I managed them easily enough ( we are both mid seventies). We paid for a week's parking as this was the most convenient and easy with a bank card. We visited Westward Ho! beach by driving up Irlisha Street and turniRead moreng left then right and then right at the t junction, so easy. (Google maps) Comfortable bed gave us a really good night's sleep. Hide

Great location. Nice cottage. Light and airy. Stairs are steep so be sure you will manage. Bring your own coffee/tea/cafetire and cleaning products. Best food at The Yard and the Royal George. Both within a few minutes walk. Best breakfast at the Coffee Cabin. The Beaver is not dog friendly in restaurant area. Crossed harbour to Instow by ferry andRead more walked back - lovely. Location is faultless. Would definitely go back to Appledore. Hide
