This charming cottage in the heart of Devon countryside is the ideal rural retreat for a couple and their four-legged friends. Situated amongst the rolling hills of North Devon and close to the Tarka Trail, there are endless opportunities for you all to stretch your legs and soak up the fresh, country air. If it’s sea air you’re after, venture north to the sandy beaches and stunning South West Coast Path. After a busy day strolling, running and fetching sticks, you can all relax in front of the wood burner with some well-earned treats.
This cottage provides ample space for two people and up to three dogs, with kennels on-site for additional pets by prior arrangement. It is full of charm with its original beams, exposed stonework and sloping ceilings. The well-equipped kitchen is a good size, whilst the lounge-diner is cosy and comfortable with leather-effect sofas - perfect for wiping muddy footprints off. The king-size bedroom and the bathroom are both up the narrow staircase. Outside, there is a field for your furry friends to expel excess energy and a courtyard for others to conserve their energy with some al fresco dining.
You and your pooches will be spoilt for choice for places to go. The Tarka Trail, miles of converted railway line, is almost on your doorstep and offers flat, easy walking for everyone. If there’s life in the old dog yet and you fancy a challenge, Exmoor is 23 miles away and offers a multitude of stunning walks and dog-friendly tea rooms and pubs. If your dog is more of a wave-catching kind of a pup, head to sandy Westward Ho! (10 miles) which has dog-friendly areas all year round. The picturesque South West Coast Path can also be accessed from here.
