This comfortable semi-detached period cottage is found on a quiet country lane within walking distance from the village of St Day.

St Day, which is just under a mile away, is a traditional village with a mining past, as shown by its old engine houses. Here you’ll find plenty of shops and pubs as well as a post office. The north coast of Cornwall, famous for its peaceful coves, surfing beaches and golden sands, is also just five miles away, with Porthtowan being the closest coastal town. You are situated perfectly to explore many beaches that are dog friendly. Many of Cornwall’s most popular towns, including Truro, Redruth and Falmouth are all also within easy reach. Check out the regular stock car meetings at the local race circuit, a local custom.

While the property is finished to a high standard, it still retains its original period charm. The secluded location as well as the care and attention paid to this property make it a perfect place to stay for couples. It offers an open plan lounge, kitchen and diner, making the living space nice and airy. The lounge has a TV/DVD and hi-fi, while the kitchen is equipped with everything you need including an integrated electric oven and hob, fridge with icebox, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, with an en-suite shower room and WC.

Outside of the property, there is a spacious enclosed patio which is a suntrap during the afternoons. Guests can make the most of the sunny garden and dine al fresco with garden furniture and a BBQ. There is also a washing line should you need to dry any wet clothes or towels. Ample off-road parking is available immediately outside the property.
 

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Anchor Cottage was in a great location, a short walk to the village St Day with two nice dog friendly pubs, a couple of shops and butchers. A very well appointed comfortable cottage, nice friendly owners close to. We found the location great to travel the local area and further afield. We look forward to a return visit.

It's our 3rd visit to anchor cottage so that says it all. It's a great location for all our favourite beaches and is a short drive from Padstow and port isaac. Sue and Richard are extremely welcoming.

The cottage is in an ideal location for the south of Cornwall. Fully equipped with everything as you would find at home including hairdryer. Lovely fluffy towels and nice welcoming Cream Tea, milk and Tea Bags. The garden is lovely and secure if you take your Dog. Its a shame the weather wasnt on our side to utilise it. Very quiet comfortable cottage in a small village with easy access to all points in middle and southern Cornwall. Village provides a friendly welcoming pub (the star inn) within a five minute walk from the cottage.There is an excellent Butcher in the village.

The property is in a great position to travel around Cornwall its only a few miles to quite a few main places. We arrived to a wonderful cream tea and milk in the fridge, nice large fluffy towel and a great enclosed safe garden for our large dog. The bathroom is large and bedroom has one chest of drawers and a wardrobe. Beautiful views from the winRead moredows. Hide

Good base for Truro and Falmouth area. Good local pub 5min walk from cottage that does very good Sunday roast lunch, The Star @ Vogue.

The cottage is perfectly placed to visit all surrounding areas. Peaceful location only the local wildlife noises (lovely). The cottage has everything you would need. Richard and Sue and their 2 beautiful dogs were very welcoming and the cream tea on arrival was a treat after our long journey. The enclosed garden was brilliant for our 2 dogs we coulRead mored leave the door open and know they were safe. Didn't want to go home and would definitely stay there again. Hide
