Property code: ALOLD

Three converted semi-detached stables set in a courtyard attached to the owners’ house. Cosy yet stylish properties retaining original features.

This delightful home in a converted stable is ideal for couples and their canine companions who are looking to enjoy the wonderful Somerset surroundings. With a shared, enclosed paddock you can rest assured that your dogs will have somewhere safe to get rid of excess energy and they may even make friends with the resident hens, goats and horse. Within 3 miles of the property is Burnham-on-Sea with its long, sandy beach where dogs are welcome everywhere all year, except for a small stretch in front of the sea wall. Just remember to take your towel for those sandy paws.

This charming single-storey property offers clean, comfortable and modern accommodation whilst retaining some of its original features. It is one of three properties situated around a courtyard behind the owners’ house. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a wonderful space to relax, cook and eat in while the wooden floor makes muddy pawprints easier to wipe up. A door separates the living area from the spacious bedroom with its high, vaulted ceiling and the contemporary shower room. Outside, there is a private patio area with a BBQ – just perfect for those summer evenings.

Being situated on the A38 makes much of Somerset easily accessible. You and your four-legged friends may be particularly interested to know that two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Quantock Hills and the Mendip Hills, are within 16 miles and offer a wealth of opportunities for ‘walkies’ with breathtaking views. If you fancy a cheesy day out, why not head to the stunning Cheddar Gorge which is only 13 miles away… and yes, there will be cheese. There are also some delightful historical towns/cities within 18 miles, such as Wells, Glastonbury and Taunton.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This cottage is perfectly placed for lots of lovely walks in the country side and on the beach. If the TV reception and shower were improved it would be great. Safe for our dog and the owners were very friendly.

The cottage was excellent. Very safe large patio area for dogs. Also shared exercise field for dogs. Bed was comfy. Greeted by Sadie on arrival who was very friendly and went out of her way to be helpful. Explained some soft furnishings removed due to Covid. Cottage very clean. I will book again for next year.

Our holiday cottage had everything we needed inside. Outside we had an enclosed private patio, and there was also a separate shared grass paddock for our dog to run around. Perfect.

Alstone Cottages are well located and easily found. The owner was on site to welcome us and acquaint us with the area. The accommodation was very clean and spacious with a nice private enclosed area - super addition when travelling with a dog. We would most definitely return to Alstone Cottages.
