A cosy getaway which is located within the owners grounds, where a warm welcome awaits but privacy is assured. Offering the perfect retreat throughout the year to explore all this county has to offer.

This thoughtful property, set on the outskirts of the peaceful village of Sampford Peverell, is perfect for a romantic getaway in the company of your four-legged friends. Set over one floor, with added ramp access and space for two canine companions, it’s a great choice for less-mobile couples looking to treat their Terriers to some fresh Devon air. And with canal walks and trains leading to Exeter and Tiverton within walking distance, you and your pooches can explore this beautiful county with ease.

Inside, the spacious interior has been built with comfort in mind. Unwind in the cosy open-plan living area. It’s the perfect place to curl up with a good book with Fido at your feet. Or rustle up a home-cooked meal in the easy-to-use kitchen. The two wet rooms, both equipped with grab rails, are great for cleaning up mucky pups after a long day of adventure. Then you can sink into the delightful double bed while Mutley dozes off on the comfy wicker armchair. Outside, sun-loving Schnauzers will adore the pretty patio area. With wheelchair access and outdoor furniture, there’s nowhere better to enjoy a warm summer’s evening.

While here, take in a stroll along the canal from Sampford Peverell to Halberton and enjoy excellent views across to the Blackdown Hills. Pups will love spotting reed warblers along the way. Or for a dog-friendly day out, head to Tiverton (6 miles) and explore Bickleigh Mill’s selection of shops and restaurants. It’s a great base for walks across the Exe Estuary. Sampford Peverell itself boasts a shop and two dog-friendly pubs.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The cottage was really Quant, clean, quiet and comfortable although the bed mattress was quite hard, the kitchen was well equipped. For obvious reasons DVDs, books and games have been removed so take something to do in the evening, although there is a TV. Rachel was a very friendly and cherry lady, who greeted us on arrival and pointed us in the diRead morerection of local amenities. The shop and local pub are within walking distance and the locals very friendly. Lovely walks along the River. Hide

A cosy cottage with facilities suited to both able bodied and disabled users. Great walks from the door e.g. along the Great western Canal into Tiverton. Tiverton Parkway train station is just a 15 minute walk with direct connections to Dawlish, Teignmouth, Plymouth. Safe outdoor space for dogs.

We had a great holiday, the location allowed us to have day trips around Devon and Cornwall, and the owners were wonderful and friendly and it was nice to return every night to the warm house, "The Acorn".

Acorns cottage is a little gem in a precious location. We stayed for a week in August only wish it had been two weeks. Hosts were so friendly and helpful.
