This stunning stone-built cottage, situated in the heart of the Peak District National Park, sleeps four and warmly welcomes one dog. Enjoy a rural retreat in luxury with walkies galore and a boutique-style home-from-home to return to. Leave no leg unstretched and no smell unsniffed on the long-distance path of the Limestone Way (11 miles) before settling down for a cosy night in by the wood burner with a glass of wine.

Relax in the opulent lounge, with a content canine sleeping at your feet and enjoy a movie or a good book. Head into the immaculately decorated kitchen and rustle up a tasty meal to enjoy around the dining table. With exposed stonework, beams, fur throws and candelabras, this room exudes luxury and is the perfect place to socialise and plan tomorrow’s adventures. Retreat upstairs to the master bedroom to be welcomed by a sumptuous four-poster bed with a slipper bath in the room for ultimate relaxation and romance. Enjoy a morning coffee and breakfast outside at the bistro table whilst a sleepy hound basks in the sunshine on the patio.

Explore the 105 acres of stunning dog-friendly gardens, miles of footpaths, extravagant water features and magnificent views at Chatsworth House (11 miles). Climb Mam Tor (13 miles), meaning ‘Mother Hill’, a 517-metre-high hill that offers stunning panoramic vistas across the park and limestone ridge. Race around Buxton Country Park (6.5 miles) and let Fido sniff around Grinlow Woods before walking to the summit to find Solomon’s Temple, and pause for a well-deserved breather and enjoy some spectacular views across the High Peak.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Gorgeous cottage in a lovely quiet village, with walks on doorstep. Easy distance to Buxton and Bakewell. Both worth a trip.Cottage is well equipped and has a cosy inviting feel to it. Owners easy to contact if needed.Appreciated the wine on arrival! Will definitely look to return.

Gorgeous bed linen, spotlessly clean, cosy fire, coffee machine was a plus and well equipt kitchen. A bottle of wine on arrival was a nice touch! A great cottage in a lovely rural village. Well equipped with everything you could possibly need, even down to a vast selection of DVDs to watch when the weather is wet. Stayed during November heavy rains. Location good for visiting the local towns and other attractions. Would highly recommend.

It was a lovely cottage in a great location. It was well equipped and comfortable to stay in - we would happily go back. Like a previous comment - I agree that if you had mobility issues the toilet and bath would be difficult, but the shower was fantastic. We believe that anyone visiting will immediately fall in love with this property. It is beautiful. A beautiful cosy cottage in Taddington. Very stylish and well appointed. High quality appliances and superb kitchen facilities. 1 The Retreat is a beautiful cottage set in an idyllic village location. It has the wonderful feel of a Parisian emporium whilst retaining the traditional cottage/village feel. Beautiful and quirky property in a lovely location. Ideal location for Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock Bath, which are all lovely places. We took a dog and the only drawback is that there is no back garden. We could not let our dog out. However, there is a churchyard with grounds opposite the property.

A beautiful cottage in a quiet village in a perfect setting. Taddington is a lovely little village - only one pub and no shop but who needs that when you have footpaths in all directions heading straight out on to gorgeous, unspoilt countryside. Very well equipped cottage (even hair straighteners!) and very responsive host. Beautifully decorated.

It is located in the peaceful village of Taddington which is ideally situated for access to all the major towns and attractions in the Peak District.
