Spend days soaking up the sun on the beach or sniffing out adventures through the Suffolk countryside, before retreating to this comfortable and eclectic home for socialising and relaxing.

This bright and colourful Victorian villa is bursting at the seams with character. The spacious lounge has floor-to-ceiling windows which let light flood in. Carregio Cottage was a total privilege to stay in! We totally loved the character, charm and amazing artwork all over the place, in a great spot in Aldeburgh just yards from the high street and beach and restaurants. There is no allocated parking though so you need to be clever getting free spaces nearby but wasnt too much of an issue in April/earlRead morey May. There is a carpark right outside with free parking for half an hour to unload (you need to get a ticket). The house is totally quirky which we loved, although the second single room was extremely small and the downstairs shower room needs a bit of attention. Hide

Lovely, quirky cottage, very comfortable beds and plenty of space downstairs. Sea views, and the sound of the sea at night! Great for groups who need several beds - 4 single beds in 3 rooms is really useful.

We have visited this lovely cottage many times over the last few years and twice this year. It is the go-to favourite place for us, our children and grandchildren. We love the home-from-home feel to the place along with the kind of equipment etc not often found in holiday cottages. Aldeburgh itself has everything - it's a huge pleasure to pop out tRead moreo buy fish, go to the deli, and buy groceries at the Co-op. Salters the butcher is amazing - everything ethically sourced and delicious. If you want to eat out or have a pub lunch there are plenty of choices. The independent bookshop remains unchanged over decades and is still one of the best I know. I'm a keen swimmer and I love being able to run from the front door and into the sea - no faffing around changing on the beach! I'm already planning next year's holiday! Hide

Great location, although the view over the car park was a shame. Had a very nice casual and friendly feel.

I've said it all before. This is a remarkable place to stay. It is absolutely a home from home if not better. Well equipped, comfortable and full of interest. It is located so close to the beach you can run down for a swim in your swimsuit. Crabs and other fish are caught close by. Other wonderful independent shops - O and C Butcher for men's and lRead moreadies clothes, a beautiful deli and 2 Magpies Bakery. No need for an on line delivery! But for local top up, the lovely little co op stays open until 10 pm. I've stayed at Correggio six times and the attractions don't wane. The sound and smell of the sea so close are glorious. It's good on calm summer days and on wild autumn ones! Good walks straight from the door. There's even a lovely cinema! Hide

We love Aldeburgh and like quirky which were two factors that influenced our choice of cottage. We were not disappointed with the location and it was great to be able to leave the car and walk everywhere from such a prime position, and enjoy the hustle and bustle that Aldeburgh offers. Having recently done our own 70's makeover at home we were loRead moreoking forward to what we would discover at the cottage, and it is indeed quirky and eclectic. However, some of it is at the cost of comfort and potentially cleanliness which is a shame e.g. propping up a divan with books is neither quirky nor eclectic, nor is having to sit on top of several scatter cushions to get any kind of comfort on any of the seating in the lounge. The weather during our stay was cold, wet and windy and we appreciated the warmth of the cottage throughout and the very powerful shower in the ground floor bathroom. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. We have spoken to the owner and the issue has now been resolved. Hide

Large comfortable house, so close to the sea. Good for a group of adults. Central, so at most a few minutes' walk from the shops and restaurants.
