With fantastic views over Coverdale from its superb position on the edge of the tiny village of Melmerby, this is one of two delightful cottages in a quiet and peaceful setting adjacent to the owners'' former farmhouse. Perfect for a couple or family alongside their four-legged friends, discover life in rural Yorkshire on the border of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Converted from a former farm building, the cottage is full of rustic charm and lovingly preserved original features such as gorgeous stonework and exposed wooden roof beams. After a day of adventure, the cosy living room is a wonderful place to spend an evening relaxing on the plush sofa seating while Fido snoozes in front of the warming wood burner. The well-equipped kitchen/diner has a distinctly country-cottage feel where you can share a delicious meal with loved ones gathered around the table. The pretty conservatory is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning cup of coffee, doors from which lead to the beautiful shared garden with breathtaking views out over the surrounding countryside and plenty of outdoor seating. At the end of the day, take a relaxing soak in the family bathroom before retiring to bed or basket in one of two inviting bedrooms with comfortable beds and attractive soft furnishings. There is also a shared laundry room on-site.

Located on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, rambles through stunning countryside begin from your doorstep and where Rover can sniff out adventure over windswept moorland and through picturesque wooded fells. Take a stroll to the nearby village of Carlton (0.7 miles) and visit the welcoming local pub that has treats for both furry friends and humans alike. 4.5 miles away, the village of Leyburn is home to a range of local shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a handy mini supermarket for everyday essentials. No visit to Leyburn is complete without a walk along Leyburn Shawl escarpment which offers panoramic views of the rolling Wensleydale hills in a walk to get tails wagging.

What an excellent cottage and what a splendid view, oh to wake up to this every morning. A brilliant centre from which to explore. We have de-stressed. Thank you Rachel & Philip, we will hope to return and will certainly recommend to our friends.
