Property code: OC-SFBOR

Return from picturesque walks with your delighted dog to bask out in the Suffolk sunshine and take in the glorious views. This magical retreat, near Peasenhall, 5 miles from Saxmundham, makes an idyllic retreat for couples and their canine companions. Originally a barn, the one-bedroom abode sleeps two guests and nestles in tranquil countryside yet is also within reach of the beautiful Suffolk Heritage Coast. There is also a well-stocked lake here for those who enjoy fishing.

Arrive back after your exciting forays to rinse muddy paws under the outside tap and towel down your furry friend. Make your way into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner to light the wood burner to warm cold paws and feet on autumn and winter days. Watch TV, read your book and let your happy hound daydream about his latest adventure. During the warmer months, pull open the glass doors in here instead and let your chum pad in and out from the enclosed garden. There is a pull-down bed in here too. Whip up hearty feasts for all members of your party - including those with four legs - over in the kitchen area, then dine inside or out. Take the stairs up to the first floor to find the double bedroom and en-suite shower room. As well as your courtyard garden, there is a shepherd’s hut here to sit out in. There is also ample space for cycles and parking for up to four cars.

Pack a picnic, grab some water and dog treats, and head straight out into your scenic surroundings to explore. Plan a trip to Dunwich, 8.5 miles away, where not only can you and your chum play on the beach without restriction, but you can also wander through the 215 acres of attractive heathland that is owned by the National Trust.

Well presented, clean well-equipped cottage. Warm and comfortable seating area. Would love to return to use outside space. Bird feeder visitors were very entertaining, we had a visit from Woodpecker. Great location for visiting all our favourite Suffolk spots ! We only had a long weekend, but managed to visit Southwold, Dunwich, Framlingham, HaleswRead moreorth. Hide

We were very comfortable in the cottage, and loved watching the birds on the feeders, and the deer and pheasants in the field. The location was perfect for us, with easy access to the coast and other places of interest.

Loved the cottage & location. So peaceful. Not to far to all the places we love to visit such as Dunwich & Orford. Owners friendly & helpful. Wildlife in garden wonderful to watch. Plenty of different birds to see & loved watching the antics of baby rabbits in the garden. Hope to go back there again before too long.

An excellent stay at the Barn Owl retreat. The only negative was that there was no wi-fi available and this point was repeated multiple times from other guests who mentioned this in the comments book.

We've had a fantastic break here - thank you for such a comfortable and well appointed home. So cosy and comfy and the perfect location from which to explore both inland and coastal Suffolk. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and we loved the walk into Peasenhall + breakfast at Weavers Tea room. Great pub food nearby (The White Horse at SiRead morebton especially) and the most amazing walk at Dunwich, over beach and heath. We're already planning our next visit. Thank you! Hide

We've had a great week in the Retreat. It's in a great location for visiting the Suffolk coastline with great beaches which are mostly dog friendly. The surrounding fields have lovely trails for walking and the wildlife is fantastic. The Retreat has all you could wish for and we would happily return and the flowers and the eggs were a nice touch.Read more Thank you. Hide
