For some peace, quiet and stunning scenery with your loved one and pets, stay at this sweet bungalow in north Carmarthenshire. It’s located on a smallholding with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside which you can lap up from your patio. You’ll be just 14 miles east of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, where the golden sands, dramatic cliffs and rugged rocky coves are ripe for exploring as a happy trio during your stay.

This studio-style cottage has a cosy, open-plan living space where you can cook dinners and prepare packed lunches for long days out hiking in the Brecon Beacons (26.5 miles). There’s a TV, iPod and DVD for entertainment, or you could read a few chapters of your book on the comfy seats provided. The breakfast bar is set up so you can enjoy meals there if you’re not relaxing on the paved patio. Outside, the grassy lawn and bushy area are excellent for some energetic doggie antics while the humans enjoy a cold beer on the garden furniture provided.

You’ll be in a rural spot 2.5 miles away from the nearest shop. The historical town of Carmarthen (12 miles) is well worth a day trip; visit the castle with your pets then enjoy some lunch in a dog-friendly café. Your nearest beach is Llangrannog (14.5 miles) to the south, which permits dogs all year round. At Aberporth (15 miles), the main beach has some dog restrictions in place in summer while Dyffryn beach, near the River Howni, welcomes them all year round – your furry chums will soon be trembling with excitement at all the different options!

Cosy, comfortable, compact accommodation. This provided an ideal base for us to explore the surrounding countryside.

Plenty of scope for visits to attractive sites in easy reach. An ONS map of the area is provided which was very useful. Very peaceful location but within easy reach of Newcastle Emlyn for self catering needs.

Reasonable property in very isolated part of Wales. Bedroom and kitchen is in the same room with two chairs and a tv for lounge area. Dog friendly which suited us. No pub or corner shop for about 7 miles.

Owner was friendly and welcoming, with nice touches such as milk and welsh cakes. Good provision of equipment. The fully enclosed garden was a great bonus as we have dogs, and didn't need to worry about them escaping for a wander. Overall very pleased. Location was very quiet and rural, with nice outlook onto a paddock with horses. It's up on a hiRead morell, which is not ideal for us at our age as the walks from the property are quite steep, but fine for younger people. Original Cottages kept in contact very well. Hide

The only reason for the low score in two categories are the mattress on the bed needs to be renewed, it is uncomfortable and secondly there are cobwebs in the bathroom and the fan needs cleaning. The shower is just about adequate.

The location is good but at least 30mins minimum to get anywhere, the property could do with some better kitchen utensils, knives etc, mop and dustpan would be a good addition also an aadditional blanket. Otherwise all is ok and enjoyed kit stay.
