A stylish red-brick barn conversion set on the fringes of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This romantic bolthole is the perfect escape into nature for a couple and their tufty-pawed third wheel. In low season, curious canines can scamper on the pebbly beach at Aldeburgh (6 miles) and spot the impressive sea sculpture glinting in the afternoon sun. Back at base, sip a sundowner on your private patio while Fido snoozes in the sun.

This striking renovation boasts a light-flooded interior with feature arched windows, vaulted ceilings, and soft, neutral tones. Slip off shoes and towel down your sandy hound at the door then pad into the open-plan heart of the home. Set the mood with your favourite playlist on the Bluetooth speaker then pour a tipple and sink onto the comfortable chairs. Raid the fridge for a selection of locally sourced ingredients then rustle up a simple supper in the wooden shaker kitchen. Adorn the dining table with a selection of tempting dishes then slide out the wooden chairs and settle in for a romantic meal for two (or three). As the night draws in, ascend the staircase to the mezzanine-level bedroom with an inviting super-king bed and plenty of cosy corners for Fido’s plush bed. After being hounded out for morning walkies, perch on the sun-dappled terrace with warm pastries and fresh coffee.

Watch your energetic hound enjoying unrestricted waterfront zoomies at Sizewell Beach (7 miles) or catch a sunset as you sample some world-class fish and chips on the shoreline of Aldeburgh (5 miles). Get tails wagging with a scenic scamper along the Snape Warren Circuit (1.5 miles) or kit up for a breathtaking bike ride through the grassy heathland from Snape Maltings to Orford (15 miles).

The cottage is very compact but well thought out. The equipment was ok. The upstairs bedroom is lovely with a huge bed. The velux windows give a great view of the night sky. The patio area plus small grassed area are dog proof which is a definite bonus. The welcome pack was welcome! It included dog treats which was a good touch. You can access loveRead morely walks from the front door. The owner has pitches for caravans which might affect the peace and quiet but I suspect not as they are a distance from the cottage. Good food at a reasonable price nearby. Hide

Great little holiday let in a very quiet part of Snape. Lots of walks with our dog available without the need to get in the car. About a 15 minute walk (either cross country or down a very quiet lane) to the centre of Snape or 25 minute walk to the Maltings. Can recommend the Golden Key pub for a good pint and food. Ideally located to get to AldebuRead morergh or on to the A12 to explore further. The property is a wee bit tired but it has everything you need and the location makes up for any shortcomings. Hide
