Bask in the sunshine or play table tennis while Rover chases his ball up and down the lawn at this St Merryn holiday home. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom property, which welcomes pups with open paws, is just 1.5 miles from sandy Harlyn Bay where your happy hound can run free. In an excellent corner of North Cornwall for country walks, the single-storey abode is also just 1 mile from the South West Coast Path.
Watch Rover bound up the drive to discover the creature comforts of the property. The heart of the holiday home is the lounge/diner, where you can settle down to a good film on the TV while your pal dozes. Slide the doors open in here on warm days so you can all amble outside. The conservatory, with French doors on to the garden, is another great spot for quiet relaxation. Whip up tasty dishes and serve doggy dinners in the well-equipped kitchen then gather round the table in the lounge/diner. There are also two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom, and a twin at this property, together with a family bathroom, separate WC and utility room. The large garden has plenty of space for children and pups to play, as well as for outside dining and table tennis. There is also storage for cycles and other outdoor gear, plus parking for up to three cars.
Energetic pups might like to attempt the 7-mile stretch of the South West Coast Path between Padstow and Harlyn Bay. This is quite challenging and rugged but takes in some stunning coastal views. A gentler 3.5-mile circular walk from Porthcothan to Treyarnon might suit older hounds and you can finish with a picnic on the sand at Treyarnon Bay, where Rover can leave his paw prints all year round.
