  • One of two delightful, single-storey retreats, nestled in the scenic Norfolk Broads
  • Pretty redbrick property with vaulted ceiling, beams and exposed brickwork interior
  • Tranquil setting, with views out across the beautiful, surrounding countryside
Property code: OC-1256

This charming rural hideaway for two is perfect for a couple and their small canine companion to enjoy a holiday in the tranquil surroundings of the beautiful Norfolk Broads. The single-story brick property is set in the quiet village of Limpenhoe on the banks of the River Yare and has lovely views across the surrounding countryside. Close by is a wealth of peaceful walks beside the rivers and lakes of this unspoiled landscape. The picture-postcard village of Reedham, with pubs and shops, is within 2.5 miles.

A vaulted ceiling and beams enhance the rural character of this airy holiday home, with a wall of windows that flood the space with light. The open-plan interior has been cleverly planned to include a lounge/kitchen/diner and bedroom area, yet with ample room to relax. The kitchen area has a full-size fridge and breakfast bar, while the living area has comfortable seating. Twin beds can be made into super-king bed on request and there is a separate shower room. Outside is a pretty terrace, with seating and a shared BBQ.

Head to Reedham to see the famous Victorian swing bridge and chain ferry across the Yare. Stretch your pup’s legs and paws on the popular Reedham Walk, an easy 1.5-mile stretch from the quay with lovely views and glimpses of wildlife. If more energetic hikes appeal, the long-distance Wherryman’s Way runs through the village. Tuck into fish and chips from the village (with doggy treats for your pup), as you watch the river traffic. Enjoy a voyage aboard a beautifully preserved Victorian steamboat at the Museum of the Broads in Stalham (16 miles). Dogs can join the trip at the skipper’s discretion. The museum’s fascinating exhibits tell the story of this remarkable network of waterways and its people.

  • 1 bedroom – with zip-and-link twin beds (which can be made into a super-king-size on request)
  • 1 shower room with shower, WC and heated towel rail
  • Electric mini fan-assisted oven and two rings, microwave and full-size fridge, with ice box
  • Shared washing machine and freezer
  • Welcome pack
  • Travel cot
  • Smart TV
  • Private terrace area with furniture and shared BBQ
  • Ample parking accessed via a gravel driveway
  • Shop 1.5 miles and pub 1 mile
  • Secure storage for bicycles
  • Due to the size of the accommodation, only suitable for one small dog
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00

An excellent perfectly equipped and well appointed cottage in a very rural part of Norfolk to the East of Norwich, and a great base for travelling around the areas of Great Yarmouth, Caister-on-Sea, Hemsby, Potter Heigham, Wroxham Horning etc, all of which are easily accessible, along with all the Norfolk Broads. Reedham Quay on the banks of the Read moreRiver Yare are only a couple of minutes away, a great place to watch the boats (and the world) pass by. The owners of the cottage are lovely friendly people and I can highly recommend this holiday destination for a stress free, peaceful, rural vacation. Hide

A beautiful studio, true to the photos. Such a peaceful quiet location, surrounded by sugar beat. The owners are super friendly and leave you to enjoy your time here. They have 2 lovely donkeys and some chickens which we loved to feed ( with Pats approval) The bed was super comfy, good water pressure, plenty of hot water. There is ample bike stRead moreorage for bikes and the area feels totally safe. We biked to Beccles and Loddon and loved our days out. You will require transport to get here and to get about with as you are quite far from shops and restaurants. But that's what makes it so special. Thanks Pat and Brian for everything. Awww forgot to mention the Scones that were waiting for us on arrival were absolutely the best ever. Hide

It clearly says on the website small dogs allowed. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and had everything I required. The owners were lovely. Unfortunately, my holiday was spoilt by a large dog turning up who scared my dog. This wasnt the fault of the owner. Surely HolidayCottages.co.uk could create a filter for future bookings.

Studio was very clean and well-equipped for self-catering. The beds were very comfortable (on the firm side, which we like). The property is surrounded by fields and the environment was so peaceful--perfect for R&R. While off the beaten path, the location is really just a short drive to main roads in all directions. We really enjoyed feeding applesRead more and carrots to Spice and Elderflower, two cheeky donkeys living in a paddock on the property. Had a couple of lovely meals at The Cock in Cantley (5 mins away). Also enjoyed fishing at Taswood Fisheries about 20 mins away--6+ lakes, all very well maintained and all facilities you might need. On Pat's recommendation we booked the Southern Comfort riverboat tour of the Broads from Horning which was well worth it and very informative. If you just want to stay put, hikes and bike rides are right outside the door. Highly recommend the property and the owners. Hide
