A short stroll (0.25 miles) leads to Parracombe village centre where you can buy fresh local produce at a community cafe and shop or eat out at the traditional pub. Climb aboard the steam engine train from Woody Bay station, just outside the village, for a short ride along the Lynton and Barnstaple narrow gauge railway through lovely countryside. This is an older property which has a charm, but we found it wasnt a particularly comfortable space to be in. It was a bit awkward to cook in (I never got on with an Aga having to wait for it to heat up to use) and there is only a hot plate or countertop oven to use. If there were more than 4 of you it would be tough. The house feels and smells dRead moreamp, which could have been worse with the awful week of bad weather but is part of an old property sometimes. Great location for exploring the north Devon coast, and it was easy to find places to eat locally. The local pub was fantastic. Parking was ok at the church, unloading was tricky with cars passing. We probably wouldnt stay here again by choice, it just wasnt our kind house. Hide
