The whole family, four-pawed pal included, will find something to delight in when staying in this Southwold cottage. Just a tennis ball’s throw from the beach, you couldn’t be better positioned for exploring all that Southwold has to offer. Your furry friends are welcome to chase their tails merrily on the beach during the off-season, and there’s a section of the beach just 0.5 miles away where dogs are welcome year-round. The property invites four human guests and one dog to stay in total, complete with space both indoors and out for putting feet (and paws) up in comfort.

Step inside this red-brick terrace to be instantly greeted by a welcoming lounge space. With hardwood flooring, you won’t have to worry about sandy paws making an immediate mess and there’s a handy ground-floor wet room for post-beach clean-ups where needed. Any soggy pups will no doubt find the cosiest spot to curl up by the electric fire in the lounge. At the back of the property, you’ll find a kitchen/diner and a courtyard garden. The garden is enclosed so you can safely let your children or pet play whilst you crack on with dinner. When bedtime arrives, leave your dog resting downstairs as you head up to find a double and a twin bedroom on the first floor.

Along with the beach less than 300 metres away, the property is surrounded by wonderful Suffolk countryside that’s primed for long, rewarding walks with your pet. In the summer, take a pleasant walk along the beach and over the river to Walberswick (1 mile) where you can stop off in a pub or get a seafood takeaway – don’t forget a treat for Rover! Find the Suffolk Coast National Nature Reserve also close by (3 miles), an opportune place to let Fido search for the very best stick to take home.

A few of small things: the floor protectors on the chairs need replacing as they fell off as we moved the chairs The hoover was full and the head was blocked. Once cleaned out it worked ok All 3 bins were rammed full. We called and managed to get them emptied but it seems there is confusion as to whether the company have a key for the back gaRead morete - by chance we were there so could let them in Both single beds seem to collapse if you sit on the end. Looking at the visitors book this has been happening for some time. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. The location is fantastic, we didnt use the garage as we found parking closer with ease. The use a courtyard is lovely, this does have access for the neighbours so be aware if you have dogs with you. The stairs are narrow and steep, they have a door at the bottom to keep doggies downstairs which was fab. The house had everything we needed. We wouRead moreld stay again. Hide

Accomodation is in Central location so ideal for beach, shops, pub and local walks. Pub being just a door away, was perfect and surprisingly we didn't hear any noise from it. We also managed to park car outside, which was a positive.

The cottage is well situated with easy access to the beach for long walks & plenty of fresh air. This time of year it lovely for dog walks as access to the beach is unlimited, in the summer months I would think it's a nightmare with a dog as there are restrictions on where dogs can go. The cottage it's self is well maintained & comfy & in January iRead moret's nice & cosy. For a week away we both loved it so many places nearby to visit also. We do think as a couple of an older age that we should point out that access to both bedrooms upstairs is up a tight stairwell. If trying to use this stairs in the middle of the night to use the bathroom which is downstairs it can be rather difficult. In this day & age of communication & streaming services a good broadband is accentual but as it stands the one at present doesn't have this capability. Hide

A really cute and quaint little cottage - nicely decorated and well equipped. The main bedroom upstairs was particularly pretty with exposed beams. The fan was a welcomed addition as it was used most nights (the second fan in the twin bedroom needs repairing as the blades bang into the caging). Although the garden is enclosed and a very nice sun tRead morerap, it is worth noting that the cottage next door has access to their garden via the side gate and through the garden of the cottage. The BBQ was brilliant and used well throughout our stay. Having the garage space around the corner was a great added bonus and fits a VW Golf in well (anything bigger would be a very tight squeeze). Location could not be better: literally everything on the doorstep! Although only two doors away from the pub, where customers gather outside, there was no problem with noise. An excellent holiday accommodation and would recommend! Thank you Horseshoe Cottage. Hide
