In a central yet quiet position, close to the beach and all of Whitby’s attractions, this second-floor apartment makes the perfect base for a seaside break with your canine companion, friends or family with a king-size bedroom and a twin/king room, and a sociable, spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner.

The stylish apartment has been thoughtfully designed to ensure you have comfy stay. Go up the external steps, then upstairs inside to the front door and into the light-filled living space, with eye-catching work by a local artist. After a fun day out, cook a hearty meal in the contemporary kitchen and enjoy it together at the dining table next to the window and Juliette balcony. Then kick back on the sofas and watch TV or a great movie with the electric fire keeping you cosy before heading to bed in the two gorgeous bedrooms, an elegant king, and a pretty twin, both have plenty of storage and TVs. Completing the apartment is the family bathroom where you can have a quick shower or a long, relaxing soak. There’s no private outside space but the beach, coastal walks and pub gardens are all within easy reach.

Grab the lead and take Fido out to explore the town’s beaches (from 400 metres away) and wander along beach hut lined promenade. Explore the rugged beauty of the North York Moors and visit the pretty villages along the coast, including Robin Hood’s Bay (6 miles). Visit the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, climb the 199 steps to the Abbey (0.5 miles) for incredible views, go for walks along the Cinder rack starting at the Whalebone Arch (just over 300 metres away). Be sure to enjoy the town’s great seafood, pubs, and shops and visit the Dracula Experience.

We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Black Pearl in Whitby The apartment was really lovely and we would recommend to anyone Please be advised, the apartment is up quite a lot of stairs (2 floors up) so not suitable for everyone

Comfortable and cosy apartment, great location within short walking distance to the centre. Nice welcome pack provided. The scratch card parking permit provided by the owner, was also very useful.

Comfortable flat in a great location. Some really good walks along the coast and in the moors accessible from town or via local buses/train. We recommend Humble Pie n Mash over the river.

This was our 2nd stay at the Black Pearl and it didnt disappoint. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable. Its not too far from all the shops and pubs but with most properties in Whitby its a hilly walk back to the apartment. Not a criticism just fact. The beds are comfortable and although there are blinds and curtains at the windows in the bedRead moreroom, it might be worth considering black out blinds or curtains as these would be a bonus. Since our previous visit the tv had been put on the wall rather than free standing. Personal opinion its placed too high. The tvs in the bedrooms are a little on the small side. These really are just personal choices and on the whole the apartment didnt disappoint. We had a lovely break it was comfortable and a quiet holiday. Would certainly return and would recommend to others. Hide

Lovely little place to stay and ideal location to the seaside, and perfect for walkers, and close to nice cafes and fish and chip shops. The only negative thing was all the stairs to the apartment, but it was mentioned at the time of booking

Lovely home from home.Clean and well equipped.You do need to be fully mobile as the apartment is accessed via 3 flights. No issue for me, however my elderly mother struggled a little. My fault as didn't realise there would be so many steps. Had a lovely 5 days and the dog loved it too.Nice touch having a welcome pack, free WiFi and Sky TV.

The Black Pearl had everything you needed. Clean and welcoming and comfy beds. Great location for town centre or the Beach. Great view of the Abbey from the street. Also lots of places in easy driving distance such as Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and Sandsen. Would highly recommend.
