Dating back to the 1870s, this traditional fisherman’s cottage makes a great retreat for families and couples exploring the South Cornwall coast. Set in a quiet location in a charming conservation area in West Looe, the cottage provides ample holiday accommodation for four guests, with space for a canine companion to come along and help you discover the area’s stunning beaches, picturesque seaside resorts and breathtaking countryside. This beautifully furnished getaway occupies three levels and has a range of delightful features including wooden floors, whitewashed walls and a quirky enclosed courtyard.
A couple of steps lead up into the cottage, which has a pretty lounge perfect for relaxing in at the end of a great day. The ground floor also features a spacious kitchen/diner which has been stylishly arranged. Upstairs, the first floor offers the first of two bedrooms: a cheerful king-size room, along with a refreshing family bathroom. Going up to the second floor, the beautiful twin room is set in the eaves of the house and offers a charming country view. Outside, a small courtyard has outdoor furniture and provides a sweet space for your four-legged friend to laze while you enjoy a morning coffee.
West Looe quay is just 250 metres away, where you can try crabbing or watch the fishermen bringing in the catch. A boat taxi can take you across the river to East Looe where you will find a choice of great places to eat and drink, many of them pet-welcoming. Staying on the western side of town, the dog-friendly beach of Hannafore is less than half a mile away, or you can head along the coast to the pretty resorts of Polperro (4.5 miles) and Polruan (10 miles). Inland, there are miles of wonderful walks, with Bodmin Moor 15 miles to the north.
