This charming holiday cottage is in the fishing village of Polruan and enjoys fabulous views across the Fowey Estuary. The retreat welcomes four guests and two waggy-tailed friends and is perfect for families or couples seeking outdoor adventure. Enjoy dog walks along the South West Coast Path, which passes the top of the village, or spend the day at the paw-friendly Par Sands, just 7 miles away.
The accommodation is arranged across one level, and the subtle coastal decor is calm and relaxing. After a long walk with the pups, rustle up a feast in the bright and airy kitchen/diner, where you’ll find a dining table to seat everyone. In the evenings, fire up the wood burner and get cosy in the lounge, which boasts spectacular views across the harbour. There’s also a TV/DVD for enjoying movie nights together. The property has two inviting bedrooms: choose from a double bedroom with estuary views or a nautical-themed twin bedroom. Both bedrooms have their own, en-suite shower rooms. Outside, your canine buddies can potter around in the pretty terraced garden, which has steps leading to a charming summerhouse overlooking the harbour – the ideal spot for a sundowner. Parking is available in a public car park, 400 metres away.
Wander down to Polruan’s harbour to take the short, woof-friendly ferry ride across to Fowey. Here, you can spend a relaxing afternoon pottering around the many independent shops, boutiques, and galleries before dining in one of the cosy pubs or quirky restaurants. Alternatively, grab a bag of fish and chips and find a bench on the waterfront and admire the gorgeous views. There are some spectacular coastal walks to explore on both sides of the estuary, including a popular route from Polruan to Lantic Bay (1.5 miles) which is known for its stunning sandy beach and turquoise waters.
