This peaceful holiday home in the lovely village of Langham is a splendid location for dog lovers wishing to explore this part of the Norfolk coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The spacious stone and brick property sleeps six guests, plus two pets and is ideal for families or a group of friends. Langham has a fine, traditional village pub, while the picturesque village of Cley next the Sea (3.5 miles) has a delicatessen and tearoom, as well as its much-photographed windmill.
This light and bright house is attractively furnished and has a welcoming feel. The comfortable lounge, with a feature brick fireplace, has two sets of glass double doors. One leads to a large conservatory overlooking the garden and the other to the roomy, all-white kitchen with a pretty dining area. Upstairs are three attractive bedrooms: a king-size, super-king-size and a twin, each with country-style wooden furniture and white bed linen. A large, fully enclosed, private garden to the rear has ample space for canine companions, while children can play in the small summer house. A patio with garden furniture and a BBQ are the finishing touches.
Dogs are welcome on Cley’s shingle beach all year. However, protected ground-nesting birds are often there between April and August, so please keep Fido under close control and stay close to the shoreline. For a longer walk to stretch paws and legs, head for the Norfolk Coast Path. Well behaved seagoing canines will enjoy a boat trip from Blakeney Quay (4 miles) to see England’s largest sea colony. Polite pets are also welcome on the North Norfolk Steam Railway, or Poppy Line, a 5-mile stretch between seaside Sheringham (10 miles) and the market town of Holt (5.5 miles).
