The characterful cottage boasts an elevated position overlooking Cowling and the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Sleeping four guests and three hairy companions, the property makes a great couples’ retreat or base for a small family. The walking opportunities in the area are endless and you’ll also be within 10 miles of the fascinating ancient towns of Skipton and Haworth. The property has a delightful, shared outdoor space with far-reaching views. Sip sundowners on the south-facing patio, while the hounds play in the enclosed grassed area.
The cottage retains much of its original charm as a weaver’s barn, with stone window ledges and beamed ceilings, along with creature comforts to make your stay as relaxing as possible. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has wooden floors and ample space for the woofers to set up camp, as well as comfortable seating and a dining area by the window. Upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms, both decorated in neutral tones and boasting magnificent rural views. Choose from an inviting king-size or a cosy bunk bedroom. A large shower room completes the first floor. Outside, there is a shared patio, enclosed grassed area, and storage for bikes and outdoor equipment.
Take a day trip to the historic town of Haworth (10 miles), to explore the landscape that famously inspired the Bronte sisters. After a potter around its cobbled walkways and bustling high street, let the woofers lead the way on a 3-mile walk to Top Withens, the ruined farmhouse that is thought to have been the inspiration for Wuthering Heights. From the town, you and your hairy sidekicks can also hop aboard the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, to chug your way majestically through the dramatic Yorkshire countryside.
