Surrounded by open countryside just outside Staithes, this charming cottage for six humans and two hounds is the ideal place to unwind. Enjoy dog walks from your front door, or head to the coast for strolls along the beach and exhilarating cliff-top hikes. Four-pawed visitors will love the outdoor space at the cottage, with an enclosed garden and a 4-acre paddock to explore. The owners can provide dinners for special occasions, as well as guided walks and tai chi lessons.
The barn conversion has a home-away-from-home vibe, with cute accessories and vibrant soft furnishings. The lounge/kitchen/diner is a sociable space, with comfortable seating arranged around a Smart TV/DVD, a dining table for sharing mealtimes together, and a roaring wood burner. This is a good place for Rover and Fido to make themselves at home, with direct access to the garden. The ground-floor double bedroom also has patio doors to the outside, as well as an accessible wet room. This bedroom can be used as a dining room when the property is occupied by four guests. The super-king-size bedroom and the twin are on the first floor, and both have en-suite facilities. The enclosed garden has mature borders for the hounds to sniff, and elegant outdoor furniture for dining under the stars. There is also a shared games room with snooker, table tennis, table football and board games.
Step back in time on a wander around the fishing village of Staithes (1.5 miles). Amble along the cobbled streets, popping into the art galleries, boutiques, and independent cafes. Before returning to the cottage, head to the smokehouse to pick up some delicious fish for your supper. Just along the coast is Whitby (11 miles), which is steeped in history. Let your hairy sidekicks lead the way up the 199 steps to the church, before investigating the ruins of the abbey or playing a game of fetch on the beach.
