A lovely period cottage in the pretty village of Thornham with a dog-friendly beach within a mile is a great holiday location for humans and tail-waggers alike. The spacious 300-year-old property, sleeping six guests and two pets, is ideal for families or a group of friends wishing to explore the unspoiled North Norfolk coast, famed for its golden sands. Tastefully furnished in country style, it is full of character and charm with many original features. A wealth of fun attractions await in the traditional seaside resort of Hunstanton, just 4 miles away.

There are ceiling beams throughout the cottage, and a wood burner in the cosy lounge is set in a splendid chimney breast. Comfortable sofas invite you to relax in front of the stove and the stylish kitchen is light and bright, with French doors opening to a patio. This room is a designated space for your canine companions, however its warm, brick-tiled floor has ample space for doggy beds or blankets. A games room with table football is a bonus for youngsters. Upstairs are three beautiful bedrooms—two king-size and one twin—and a sleek family bathroom. Outside, a small, pretty patio with garden furniture is enclosed by a Norfolk flint wall.

Thornham has a village shop and pub, plus a beach a mile away, where your four-legged pals can race across the sand and into the sea to their hearts’ content. Hunstanton’s outstanding Sea Life Centre, housing sharks, piranhas and seal cubs is must-see. While seasonal restrictions on pets may apply to busier parts of the town’s glorious beach, the sands at nearby Old Hunstanton are dog-friendly all year round: perfect for stretching paws and legs as you enjoy a short stroll or brisk hike together.

The cottage stands in a perfect location for exploring the area. It has lots of dining and drinking venues within an easy walking distance. The old harbour is a 15 minutes stroll away and a further 30 minutes to a beautiful beach. Lots of walking options from the doorstep and a bus stop right outside to explore further. We had a lovely week at Read morethe cottage and would definitely recommend. Hide

Dogs are welcomed but the only reason we would be unlikely to return is the lack of an area to pop them outside last thing at night and first thing in the morning. There is a tiny secure outdoor area with a table and chairs, but nowhere for the dogs. There is a grass area immediately across the road but its a lead walk each time.

The cottage is very well equipped and in an excellent location. Although there is no designated parking spaces, we did not have any problem parking outside the cottage or nearby. The accommodation was very comfortable, especially the beds. WiFi connection was very good as well. All in all, we enjoyed our stay immensely.

A very homely and well equipped cottage in a good location. A very nice touch is the welcome pack. Good facilities nearby in shops and pubs/restaurants. If you do not park directly outside, take care down the road as pigeons sit in the trees by the church and make a real mess on cars. Some very pleasant walks right on the doorstep.

Loved staying here, very socially placed but just a tad noisy from the road but that can't be helped.
