Embrace life in the Lake District from the quaint village of Elterwater with walks from your doorstep along Great Langdale Beck over to Skelwith Force waterfall which is sure to get tails wagging. At the end of the day, head home to this cosy cottage to relax in the elevated garden, or in front of the warming fire.
Stepping into the property, you’ll find the front porch that leads into the living room – a space with a real feeling of home with an open fire and two sofas to sprawl out across for family film night. Across in the kitchen/diner the ceiling is full of character with exposed beams, deep kitchen cabinets and all you could need to cook up a feast. On the other side of the room is the farmhouse-style dining table which seats four where you can share stories and make plans for your adventures in the days ahead. Upstairs the master bedroom features a king-size bed for a good night''s sleep and a wooden chest of drawers to unpack, in addition this room boasts an en-suite shower room for extra privacy. The second bedroom is a quaint twin which is well suited for children with use of the family modern bathroom with a skylight allowing natural light to pour in. Take your pick from the front patio or elevated rear garden for a space to breathe in the fresh air and spend time with your canine by your side.
From Elterwater there is an array of places to visit, many of which are accessible via beautiful walking trails, such as the pretty pathway to Ambleside, stopping off at Skelwith Bridge for a bite to eat in the dog-friendly river cafe. For a day out on the water, head to Windermere (15 miles) and hop aboard one of the cruises across the lake where your pups will be welcomed aboard to soak up the scenery.
