This beautiful, boho-chic end-terrace cottage in Rye sleeps four people over two bedrooms and welcomes two canine companions. Located in the historic Landgate area, this home was converted into an individual cottage in the 16th century, but its origins go way back to the 1300s. You’ll adore the cottage’s period features, and your pups will love stretching out in front of the wood burner in the living room.
Step inside and you’ll find a charming open-plan lounge/dining room. Make yourself at home by the fireplace before heading through to the kitchen to cook up a feast for your loved ones. Get everyone together to eat at the table in the light and bright dining area. After dinner, head down the stone steps to relax in front of the TV in the snug, or make your way outside to enjoy a glass of wine by the fountain in the courtyard garden. When it’s time for bed, you’ll find a lovely bedroom with a period, ornamental fireplace on the first floor. Climb up the steep staircase to the second floor and you’ll find a wonderful second bedroom in the beamed attic.
Grab your pups’ leads and go on a walk around the historic town of Rye, which is right on your doorstep. Steeped in character, Rye is a gorgeous maze of cobbled streets, timber-framed buildings and terracotta roofs that harks back to its medieval past. Stop off for a coffee in a dog-friendly cafe on your way to the Rye Heritage Centre (0.5 miles). Your pups are welcome to join you when you take in the ‘Story of Rye’ Town Model Sound and Light Show. If your faithful friends require a little more exercise, there’s a lovely 11-mile trail from Rye Harbour (2 miles) to Camber Sands.
